Chapter 710 Sweet Extra of Couple Variety Show 195
Although Jessica and her team helped Clayton and Cindy finish their task as quickly as possible, they were slightly delayed because some of Jessica's fans were overly enthusiastic, cutting into their game time.
As a result, when Clayton and Cindy went to find Marshall with their task card, they were two minutes behind Kevin's team.
Watching helplessly as Kevin's team snagged the $200 vouchers that could be used directly as discounts at the horse ranch, Clayton ran over to Marshall, panting, and asked how many were left.
Marshall pointed to the table.
Clayton was stunned at what he saw.
There weren't even any $100 vouchers left; the highest was $80.
Cindy said, "Let's grab the $80 ones for now and figure out the rest later."
Clayton picked up two $80 vouchers and turned to see Kevin already handing out the $200 vouchers to his team members.
Each entry ticket allowed two people, and Kevin's team had four people, which was just right.
Maurice and Debra were teamed up with Kevin and Amy this time, and they were in high spirits. Seeing Clayton's dejected face, Maurice walked over and asked, "How much more do you need?"
Clayton shrugged, "It's not about how much more we need; we don't have a single dollar right now."
"Why not try to earn some?" Kevin suggested as he walked over.
"Earn from whom? Marshall? Marshall is notoriously stingy. Trying to earn money from him is like begging on the street, and the show rules don't allow us to use our celebrity status to ask strangers or fans for money. That's not an option," Clayton sighed.
"Earn from Mr. Harriman," Kevin said.
Clayton's eyebrows raised, sensing a possibility, "How?"
"Yeah, Mr. Harriman is the boss. He has plenty of experience paying his employees. I heard even his interns earn more than employees at many big companies. So if we find the right way, earning a few dozen or hundred dollars from Mr. Harriman shouldn't be too hard," Maurice agreed.
Actually, Gabriel and Jessica had been helping Clayton and Cindy complete their tasks all along. Gabriel even set aside his usual principle of not interacting with strangers and asked a few passersby for their last names, which was really helpful.
Thinking about whether to ask Gabriel to pay or to find a way to earn money from him legitimately, Clayton decided the latter would be more interesting.
Cindy agreed.
"Let's go find the boss!" Clayton grabbed Cindy's hand and ran back energetically.
Meanwhile, Jessica had just finished taking photos with her fans and chatted with them briefly, saying she had to continue filming the show and would catch up with them on Instagram later. As the fans happily dispersed, Clayton and Cindy ran over.
Seeing that the photos were already taken, Clayton grabbed the photos from the staff's hands, looked at them, and said, "Why didn't you wait for us? I studied photography before; I could have taken better pictures!"
Cindy also looked at the photos and said, "The lighting is too harsh here; some faces aren't clear. I'll fix them on the computer later."
Jessica was puzzled by Clayton and Cindy's sudden enthusiasm.
Gabriel, however, calmly watched as Clayton and Cindy approached, his gaze sweeping over them briefly before saying, "Didn't get first place?"
It wasn't a question but a statement.
"We were a step too late; Kevin and Maurice beat us to it," Clayton said, showing him the vouchers in his hand.
