Chapter 104 Mr. Harriman's Loop Playback

Jessica was busy in reading the script in the car when she suddenly heard the door being opened. Zoey, looking displeased, came in and grabbed the freshly brewed coffee, ready to get out of the car.
The freshly brewed coffee was scalding hot.
Jessica quickly reached out to stop her. "Where are you going?"
Zoey rolled her eyes toward the outside of the car. "I don't know where Deborah got frustrated. She's in a terrible mood. Her assistant isn't here right now. She just passed by me and said she wanted coffee. She asked me to make her a cup of coffee. She was arrogant and had a bad attitude. I didn't want to agree, but there was a crew member nearby who saw it. If I directly refused, it would seem like we were unfriendly."
Hearing this, Jessica decisively took back the coffee in her hand and then handed a bottle of iced coffee to Zoey. "Give her this to drink."
Zoey was surprised. "Is this okay?"
"Isn't she in a bad mood now? A cup of hot coffee—if it spills on you, you won't know where to complain." Jessica gave her a look that meant 'learn a lesson' and said, "Tell her the coffee machine in the car is broken. This is the only option, take it or leave it."
Zoey instantly understood Jessica's meaning, took the iced coffee, and quickly got out of the car.
A few minutes later, she came back, smiling. "She didn't want it, so I gave the iced coffee to the crew member next to her."
Jessica flipped the script to the next page and casually said, "There are still two boxes in the car. When I go to change, just take them down to the crew."
After saying that, Jessica filled her warm water cup with water and got out of the car to change.
Deborah's assistant happened to return at this moment, being scolded by Deborah outside the RV, looking aggrieved with her head down.
Jessica walked past without looking but heard two crew members sitting in the prop preparation car nearby chatting, "Wasn't Deborah's assistant just out to buy something for her? She came back and got scolded right away. It's not easy being an assistant to her, being called back and forth. Isn't Deborah usually nice? What's wrong with her today?"
"When Deborah was walking back just now, her expression looked very angry, probably criticized by the director."
Jessica didn't turn back at the words, but her eyes glanced in the direction of the set where they were before.
The scenes this afternoon were all shot by the assistant director, who had always been polite to Deborah and never criticized her. Director Chen didn't participate in the shooting just now.
So, who made Deborah so angry?
In the evening, the sun was setting.
Taking advantage of this natural light, Jessica needed to prepare for the scene at the cliff peak on the set, surrounded by green screens on two sides and the evening glow on the other two sides.
Katarina, dressed in bright red, stood at the edge of the cliff, with the scenery changing naturally in front of her. The cameras and crew members behind her moved smoothly, shooting in a rotating and shifting manner.
"Cut! Excellent!"
This was the first scene Director Chen came to shoot today. Every time Jessica had solo scenes, they were shot particularly quickly, with very few retakes. Director Chen was satisfied, replaying the footage while looking towards Nicholas, who had come over at some point, saying, "This is Jessica. She's particularly talented in acting..."
Before he could finish his sentence, he suddenly saw Nicholas taking photos of Jessica on the cliff with his cell phone. His words were cut off abruptly, and he glanced in surprise at Nicholas from the Harriman family, who was still focused on adjusting the lighting and taking photos very seriously.
"Nicholas."
"Shut up for now, don't speak!" Nicholas interrupted him, still staring at the screen of his cellphone, trying to take a few more shots before Jessica walked over.
Director Chen was stunned.
Meanwhile, Jessica, who had already known that the director was satisfied with the scene, was ready for the next set of shots on the cliff. She walked lightly towards the director.
Her bright red costume shone, exuding a different kind of beauty under the evening glow. The breeze gently blew a strand of hair across her cheek. She smiled and approached Director Chen to watch the playback on the monitor.
Nicholas had recorded a twenty-second video of the scene where Jessica ran down from the cliff in her red costume. Before Jessica noticed him, he quickly moved to another camera and sent the video to Gabriel.
Gabriel was currently inspecting a branch of a real estate company under his management, holding a proposal report as he walked out of the executive office.
After the branch executives reported to him, he didn't even look up and directly said, "Mr. Robinson, this proposal seems like getting paid without working. I've given you at least two months already. I'll give you one last night to come up with a new plan. If you and your staff still can't think straight, the Harriman Group is not a retirement home. You know what to do."
Mr. Robinson trembled nervously. "I'll have someone redo it right away!"
Gabriel didn't hesitate, walking straight out of the branch office.
Wayne briefly exchanged words with Mr. Robinson and then quickly got into the car.
Gabriel was already in the car, and his cellphone had vibrated a few times during the inspection. He glanced at it and saw that it was a message from Nicholas on WhatsApp.
Normally, he rarely contacted Nicholas unless it was necessary, either by phone or in person. Even if they had WhatsApp, he rarely used it, and Nicholas, knowing that Gabriel was not keen on replying, wisely refrained from bothering him with it.
The message contained a video.
Gabriel loosened his tie and opened the video.
The 25-second clip captured Jessica, in her red outfit, gracefully descending a cliff. Her eyes sparkled and her smile outshone the sunset, as she lifted her skirt to avoid tripping..
After watching the video, Gabriel's expression remained unchanged. He simply replayed the video once, then again.
Wayne had already gotten into the car and sat in the driver's seat. Through the rearview mirror, he saw Gabriel repeatedly watching a video segment, feeling curious but not daring to lean over and ask, "Mr. Harriman, Are we going back to the office?"
Gabriel's voice remained calm as usual. "To the office."
It wasn't until they returned to the Harriman Group headquarters and entered the office that Gabriel finally stopped the loop playback.
When Landon entered the CEO's office, he saw that Gabriel seemed to be in a good mood. He approached to report, "Mr. Harriman, the driver responsible for Miss Jessica's accident, showed signs of waking up today, around3.00p.m. His eyes opened for a few minutes, and he could slightly move his eyeballs. Although he couldn't speak yet, the doctor said that based on his current condition, the probability of him transitioning into a vegetative state dwindles."
