Chapter 94 Uncle Spencer Turned into a Butterfly and Flew Away

Jessica slammed the door, cutting off Gabriel's view. She leaned against it, hand sweeping over her forehead, before sliding down to the floor, seemingly sapped of strength. What should she do?
How should she explain to Danielle when she returned tomorrow evening?
Should she say Uncle Spencer turned into a butterfly and flew away?
Wouldn't Danielle be devastated?
Downstairs, Landon opened the car door behind the driver's seat, "Mr. Harriman, please get in. This is my car. "
Gabriel didn't get in the car but glanced at Jessica's house building.
Landon stood aside without urging, still respectfully holding the door.
It wasn't until Gabriel averted his gaze, got into the car, and Landon closed the door, then opened the front door and sat in the driver's seat, looking at Gabriel with a cold and calm expression in the rearview mirror. "Your cellphone SIM card has been reinstated, the new cellphone will be delivered soon, and the identification that you carried with you when the incident happened can be completed this afternoon if needed."
Gabriel remained silent, his cold eyes fixed ahead, revealing no emotion.
Landon drove the car out of the neighborhood directly.
The car headed towards the city center, with Landon holding the steering wheel with one hand and adjusting the rearview mirror with the other, asking carefully, "Mr. Harriman, are we going back to the Harriman family estate or straight to the company?"
Landon had a few recent documents in the car that Gabriel needed to sign. Gabriel was flipping through them casually, not looking up. "Go to Charm Villa."
Upon hearing this, Landon turned the car towards the overpass ahead.
Charm Villa was Gabriel's private residence, located in Carp Lake Bay in the south of Xyleria.
Carp Lake Bay used to be an open lake park to the public, acquired by the Harriman Group four years ago. After years of surrounding architectural design and development, it had become a renowned five-star scenic spot within Xyleria, the Carp Lake Wetland Park, with a constant stream of visitors. The surrounding street malls and pedestrian streets were also very popular among local residents and tourists.
But all the hustle and bustle was only around Carp Lake Bay. Positioned at the very center of the vast lake, the island in its midst remained inaccessible.
The grand villa building and mysterious courtyard on the island, which were intimidatingly large, belonged to Charm Villa.
Separated by the bustling commotion lies the serene Carp Lake, where the secluded manor on the island exuded profound tranquility. Enveloped by shimmering waters, the air was invigorating, with entry feasible solely via the exclusive overland passage adjoining the lakeside dock. The authorization to traverse this esteemed pathway, aptly labeled, naturally resided in the hands of Gabriel alone, the sole arbiter of passage.
Despite its opulence, the company's distance made the Harriman estate a rare visit for Gabriel. Aside from holidays or special events, he preferred his duplex at Keystar Mansion, conveniently located near work for easy rest. Jessica saw the detox tea drink on the table and shifted her gaze, preparing to tidy up the room.
For someone who had lived here for a whole month and suddenly disappeared, it was impossible to leave without a trace.
Every corner seemed to bear Gabriel's traces, and the air still seemed to carry his fresh scent, like the fragrance of the woods in the morning.
She stood in the middle of the bedroom, suddenly unsure where to start. After a long while, she took out the old cellphone from her pocket. There were only two numbers in the call log without any saved names. The rest were all her name.
After being used by her for several years and then left in a drawer, the old cellphone was picked up by Gabriel, worth tens or hundreds of billions, and used for a month, completing a perfect cycle. Jessica didn't have time to think much about what would happen after Gabriel left. She was still standing in the room, not knowing where to start tidying up, when the cellphone suddenly rang.
Mackenzie thought Jessica's urgent tone earlier meant something had happened and urgently contacted her.
Some of the familiar crew and staff from the set, who had been quiet as a lamb since yesterday, almost disappearing from her WhatsApp friend list, were now extending condolences and inquiring about her well-being, advising her not to dwell on yesterday's online incidents. How was she going to explain to Mackenzie?
Should she say that Gabriel, who used to be considered as a toy boy and whom Mackenzie scolded, had transformed into the Director and CEO of the Harriman Group?
When she drove Gabriel out just now, she thought her mind was quite clear.
But now, standing in the spacious main bedroom, seeing the razor in front of the mirror, seeing Gabriel's clothes in the wardrobe, her mind was flooded with so many things that she didn't have time to analyze where all these emotions were coming from. Mackenzie sent her a voice message directly on WhatsApp.
Jessica reluctantly answered, and Mackenzie's voice came through the cellphone. "Do you know I almost had a heart attack from anger yesterday? You're making my heart ache again today. You're not filming now. What could be occupying your time so much? Why aren't you explaining this big matter clearly to me?"
"I know, I know, I'll explain. Just give me a moment."
"You have a shoot in the afternoon; don't delay it. Come to the set first. I'll make time to see you after. Remember to choose your words carefully and give me a proper explanation."
Mackenzie's temper was getting out of control. " I woke up with several red and painful pimples on my face overnight. If this causes any permanent damage, you will be held accountable!”
Jessica was at a loss. After Mackenzie hung up, she looked at the main bedroom, then suddenly ran out, went downstairs to find the supermarket owner, and bought a large bag of chocolates in various flavors and styles, as well as rainbow candies.
Any difficulty could be overcome, but this challenge with Danielle was truly daunting. How could she prevent Danielle from crying so bitterly?
There was actually no need to tidy up the house at all. Jessica just needed a reason to tidy up so she wouldn't stand there staring blankly. She gathered all the things Gabriel had used and packed them neatly in a large cardboard box.
Then, standing next to the box, she remained lost in thought for a prolonged period, by the time she snapped out of it, a considerable amount of time had passed.
In a rush to get to the set in the afternoon, having drunk last night, she hadn't driven her car back and didn't want to bother Zoey and the driver to come to pick her up, so she decided to take a taxi herself.
The taxi driver noted the un-repaired safety barrier from a recent accident on the bridge across the river made it hard to traverse. He suggested an alternate route. Without much thought, Jessica agreed. As a result, the route the taxi driver chose was the same as the one she took last night.
As Jessica passed through downtown, she abruptly recognized their location. Concurrently, the car was halted at a major intersection across from the Harriman Group's building plaza.
