"I got this, you don't need to help," Kevin insisted.
"I'm just taking two. That makes six in total. You'll have to make another trip anyway. What if you hurt your arm going back and forth? You’ve got a new movie to start filming next month, right? It’d be tough to do action scenes with an injury," Amy said, trying to grab the items.
Kevin looked at her. "You know about my movie next month?"
Amy blurted out, "Yeah, the fan group already knew..."
She suddenly paused and changed her tone. "Actually, I left those fan groups a while ago. You were right; being in this industry means I need to have the right mindset. There's no need to do unnecessary things. I just heard it from some old friends in passing. Don't get the wrong idea, Mr. Martinez, I was making conversation."
Jessica, who had been listening to their exchange, didn't say anything. She took a folding bed from Kevin's hands and quietly walked away.
Amy followed suit, grabbing one as well. If she couldn't take two, one would still help.
This time, Kevin didn't argue. He picked up the remaining four folding beds and walked back, quickly catching up to Amy, who had turned and jogged away. "Amy Martinez."
Amy froze and turned around abruptly.
Being called by her full name had clearly startled her.
Seeing Amy's stunned expression, Kevin raised an eyebrow subtly and said in a low voice, "Walk slower, let's go together."
Amy, still a bit dazed, waited for him. By the time she realized she probably shouldn't have, they had already walked into the villa together.
Jessica had already gone inside and placed the folding bed she brought in next to the sofa.
"Jessica, should we put them all here?" Amy asked quickly.
Kevin didn't ask; he just placed the beds down and silently turned to get more.
"Let's leave them here for now. If we set them up now, it might be hard to move around during the afternoon activities. We can set them up before bed," Jessica said, patting her hands and standing the folding beds against the wall.
Hearing this, Clayton and Maurice followed Kevin outside without saying much.
Jessica glanced outside, noticing Gabriel hadn't returned yet.
After a while, when all the folding beds were brought in, the smell of food from the kitchen began to waft through the house.
When Gabriel finally came back, Jessica was making lemon water for everyone. She handed Gabriel a disposable cup as he walked in.
Gabriel took the cup from Jessica, noticing the lemon water inside. He also saw the questioning look in her eyes. Without saying a word, he glanced at her stomach, then turned and walked back to the sofa to chat with Clayton while sipping his drink.
Though they didn't say much, Jessica understood. They were discussing plans for her pregnancy.
Out of the camera's view, Jessica casually touched her flat stomach.
This little one was already being looked after so well by their dad. Once born, they were sure to be spoiled.
Not only would they have doting parents, but also an older sister. This little one was going to be very lucky.
