Chapter 646 Sweet Extra of Couple Variety Show 131
When the director broke the news, the five pairs of guests in the villa went silent for a moment.
Then Brent clapped his hands. "Alright, alright, alright. I bet we'll have some new folks joining us tomorrow. Wonder which unlucky couple's gonna join this circus. But first, let's eat. I'm starving!"
Clayton chuckled, "Yeah, me too. Let's get some grub."
Turning back, Clayton said, "Mr. Harriman, I just caught another dozen crabs. How about that salt and pepper crab you promised?"
Gabriel, standing next to Jessica, turned around with a smile, one hand in his pocket. "Sure thing, you'll have it in half an hour."
"Yes!" Clayton pumped his fist, excited.
"Looks like we're in for a treat tonight!" Debra poked her head out of the kitchen, smiling. "Can everyone handle spicy food? I didn't add any chili to the ribs at lunch, but I'm planning to spice up the fish for dinner."
"Yes, we can!"
"Absolutely! Debra, make whatever you want! We love it all!"
It was hard to pinpoint exactly what had changed, but suddenly, the atmosphere among the remaining five pairs of guests was much more upbeat than in the past few days.
No one said it out loud or discussed it, but it seemed like everyone was in a particularly good mood and more relaxed tonight.
Finally, when dinner officially started, Brent asked Marshall if they could have a couple of bottles of wine. He had noticed a supermarket in the scenic area earlier that had alcohol.
Marshall hesitated for a moment. The guests' joy after Lester and Rachel's departure was too obvious, and some of it would definitely be edited into the show. If they really wanted to drink, it wouldn't be a big deal as long as it wasn't aired.
But before he could decide, Jessica said, "What are we drinking? It's on me!"
Hearing this, and seeing that Gabriel didn't object, Marshall smiled and said, "Alright, we'll make an exception this time. Just this once, though. Save your appetite for the wrap party after the twelfth episode."
Everyone knew Marshall was giving face to Jessica and Gabriel, and with Jessica offering to treat, the matter was settled.
Clayton laughed, "Mrs. Harriman, thanks! Tonight's drinks are all thanks to you!"
"So, are we buying the drinks ourselves, or can the supermarket deliver?" Cindy asked.
"Let's have the staff make a call. They should be able to deliver," Jessica said, turning to the production team and giving instructions to Isaac and a few others.
Sure enough, within ten minutes, the supermarket owner from the scenic area personally wheeled up two cases of beer.
The male guests, who hadn't had a proper smoke or drink in days, didn't say much but their eyes lit up at the sight of the beer. They quickly gathered around, grabbing bottles and setting them on the table.
"Come on, come on, let's celebrate tonight! If we can't record later, we have enough footage from today. Marshall, you guys should join us too. Let's not leave until we're drunk!" Brent called out to the crew.
Melissa quickly pinched him. "Two cases of beer aren't that many bottles. If Marshall and the crew join, each person will only get two bottles at most. What do you mean 'not leave until we're drunk'? Are you kidding? We still have to record tomorrow!"
