Chapter 564 Sweet Extra of Couple Variety Show 49

The morning flew by quickly. Once everyone got into the groove, each family managed to collect about two buckets on average. The director called over the rubber expert to estimate the potential earnings, and they were still halfway short of their needed funds, but it was much faster than expected. After some discussion, they decided to head back to the guesthouse for lunch, change into more comfortable clothes, and then work hard in the afternoon.

By the end of the morning, everyone's clothes were drenched in sweat, looking quite disheveled, and the sunscreen on their faces had mostly washed off. They all needed a break to freshen up.

Back at the guesthouse, Jessica took a quick shower, changed clothes, and headed straight to the kitchen.

Cindy had also showered and dried her hair. The two of them had agreed to make lunch together for everyone.

"It's hot out, let's have something cool. I'll make some salad noodles," Cindy suggested. She was from Sunrise City and was particularly good at making such dishes.

"Sounds good. I'll whip up some simple side dishes. The ingredients we bought this morning should be just enough. Light and refreshing, perfect with your salad noodles," Jessica said as she turned to wash the vegetables.

Cindy was about to grab the flour when Rachel walked in with a cheerful smile. "What are you planning to make? Can I help?"

Jessica glanced at her, gave a polite smile, and then turned back to her task.

Rachel looked at Jessica's outfit and asked in surprise, "Jessica, you're not wearing any makeup?"

"I just showered and came straight here. Didn't have time to put any on," Jessica replied without turning around, still washing the vegetables.

Cindy laughed, "Jessica didn't wear makeup this morning either. Just some sunscreen and a quick swipe of lipstick before we left. No blush or eyeshadow."

"Yep," Jessica confirmed.

Rachel exclaimed in disbelief, "But we're filming a show!"

"It's fine. Fans often catch me at the airport without makeup. They're used to it. Putting on lipstick is my way of respecting the camera," Jessica said with a smile, still washing and prepping the vegetables. She then asked, "Rachel, can you mince some garlic? I want to make a garlic-flavored dish."

"I'm not very good at it," Rachel admitted, but she still moved closer to Jessica, observing what she was doing. Then she glanced at the cucumbers Cindy had and said, "How about I wash the cucumbers?"

Cindy smiled politely, "Sure, go ahead."

"Cindy, you're working with the dough. If I wash the cucumbers here, water might splash into the dough. I'll bring them over to Jessica's side," Rachel said, moving the cucumbers to the faucet near Jessica.

Jessica subtly stepped back to avoid getting splashed, taking a bowl of washed vegetables to the cutting board.

Rachel took Jessica's spot, diligently washing the cucumbers while casually chatting about typical topics among women, mostly curious questions from an unmarried young woman to married women.

There was nothing to hide, so Cindy and Jessica answered what they could. The three women busied themselves in the kitchen, chatting and working in a harmonious atmosphere.

After spending a good ten minutes washing four cucumbers, Rachel walked over to Jessica and casually asked, "Does Mr. Harriman often cook at home?"
