Chapter 179 Mr. Harriman Normally Doesn't Like Those Kinds of Things.

Gabriel, on the other hand, after tasting the soup she had drunk, put the bowl back in front of her with a familiar and natural movement, as if sharing utensils was a trivial and common thing between them.

Jessica fell silent, quickly pulling back her hand that was under the table, avoiding looking at the big shots sitting at the table.

Yet, her gaze was drawn to the steaming bowl of soup in front of her, seemingly perfect in her eyes.Even though Gabriel's actions at the moment didn't make her feel awkward, she couldn't quite grasp the purpose behind this current scene.

In her impression, Gabriel was not so outwardly expressive, leaning more towards being reserved and cautious, not one to display his affairs in front of others.

So, what was the purpose of this behavior today?

During the meal, another waiter came in to serve the dishes. There were still two appetizers on the table. After removing the appetizers, two plates of misty limited edition seafood were brought in, conveniently placed very close to Jessica.

The ice plates containing the seafood were intricately carved with various lifelike shapes. Just the abalone and sea cucumber inside were enough to satisfy Jessica with one glance.

She was indeed full, not used to eating much seafood usually, so she just looked.

But these two plates were too close to her. The ice plates, even after being decorated and carved, still had thick layers of ice, sending a chill through the air. She was wearing a shoulder-bearing dress and didn't feel cold before, but now she couldn't help but shiver.

"Ms. Jenner is wearing a dress and probably feeling a bit cold. Let's change the position of those two plates." A sharp-eyed executive at the table noticed Jessica shivering slightly and directly instructed the waiter, who hadn't left yet, to rearrange the plates.

Jessica quickly said, "No need, I'm fine, it's okay."

"It's our oversight, let's change the position."

The translation assistant next to Gary glanced at her dress and hesitated to speak, seeming to want to ask the waiter to bring her coat from downstairs.

But before he could say anything, he suddenly saw Gabriel unbuttoning a button on his suit, then draped the suit over Jessica's shoulders.

The translation assistant immediately held back, glad he didn't speak out of turn, and quickly sat back down.

Jessica remained in her seat without moving. The two plates with thick ice layers had been removed, and her back was now warm. Gabriel's coat carried his warmth and unique scent, surrounding her with a familiar feeling and turning her mind into mush.

A few minutes later, she glanced at Gabriel and then apologetically nodded to the big shots at the table, saying, "Sorry, I need to touch up my makeup."

She wasn't escaping. She had eaten a lot and had quite a few fruit juice drinks, and she really needed to go to the restroom!

After coming out of the restroom, Jessica stood in front of the makeup mirror outside, adjusting her dress and quickly touching up her makeup with lipstick. Thinking that those people in the private room were probably still drinking expensive wine and discussing investments worth millions, she felt she didn't need to rush back, so she simply paced back and forth, thinking about how to discuss the rent for Blue Bay Apartments with Gabriel after the event.

After dawdling for quite some time, she finally reached the door, about to leave, when she heard footsteps and voices outside. She immediately stopped at the door of the restroom.

"It's been quite thrilling today. Mr. Stewart became interested in Jessica after watching videos and photos of her at the event and was planning to invite her for dinner after the banquet. Luckily, he hasn't done so yet. Otherwise, if Mr. Harriman found out, Mr. Stewart would probably be directly deported back to Country F."

"This incident today has also confirmed that Mr. Harriman indeed has a girlfriend. Those few who used to think about sending women to him can probably ease off now, right?"

"Normally, Mr. Harriman doesn't like those kinds of things. Who would dare to go against the wind now?"

"Jessica is indeed quite beautiful, graceful in her demeanor, and quite lovely. Her face and figure don't seem to be artificially enhanced. In terms of looks, Jessica is truly a natural beauty, a goddess bestowed by heaven. Otherwise, how could Mr. Stewart suddenly develop an interest in actresses from other countries?"

"Having an interest doesn't matter, and she belongs to Mr. Harriman."

"Let's turn the page on this matter quickly; don't mention it anymore. Mr. Stewart is probably feeling guilty right now, hoping no one notices his intentions."

As the banquet ended, having already met the president of the domestic branch of Tilans and made an appearance at the dinner, Jessica didn't need to return to the banquet hall.

When Mackenzie found Jessica, Jessica was just changing out of her formal dress in the dressing room, putting on her everyday clothes and casually tying her hair up into a bun, sitting in the dressing room holding her phone, lost in thought.

"Aren't you leaving yet?" Mackenzie went over and tapped her on the head. "I haven't seen you in the second half. Where did you go?"

Although she asked like that, Mackenzie's eyes showed no sign of worry.

Jessica looked up at her. "You saw?"

Mackenzie raised an eyebrow, then suddenly smiled and looked into Jessica's eyes. "I only saw you being taken away by Mr. Harriman. Although I knew you'd be fine, I was still curious. You disappeared for nearly two hours. Is Mr. Harriman that eager?"

"What are you thinking?" Jessica's eyelids twitched, quickly interrupting her. "I just went upstairs to have a meal. The executives from Tilans were also in the private room upstairs."

She then described the scene in the private room to Mackenzie, who remained silent for a long time before suddenly giving Jessica an admiring look. "To be able to dine with advertising capital investors, this treatment may not even be available to many top domestic brands. Well done, Jessica. Should I rely on you to network in the future?"

Jessica didn't pick up on that thread. She just closed the calculator app on her phone and asked, "Do you know the monthly rent for Blue Bay Apartments?"

"Rent? Didn't you already move in? Who else is going to rent there?"

"On average, how much per month?" Jessica dodged the question.

"With the location and environment of  this apartment, it's probably at least two thousand eight hundred dollars per month on average. If it's an annual lease, it definitely wouldn't be less than twenty-eight thousand dollars.

"Two...?" Jessica blurted out only one word, her eyes showing surprise and shock. Before she could continue, her phone suddenly rang, and looking down, she saw a string of unfamiliar numbers on the caller ID.
