Chapter 549 Sweet Extra of Couple Variety Show 34

Jessica couldn't help but laugh and cry at the same time as she watched the replay on her phone.

Gabriel's knack for attracting attention was truly something else. Even high school girls couldn't resist trying to get close to him. Despite running a company with millions of dollars in transactions every minute, Gabriel had come to this small town of Harmony City to earn ten bucks an hour and help shovel ice. He seemed perfectly at peace with it, yet his cold demeanor and unapproachable aura remained. The girls could only steal glances at him from a distance.

The fans in the live chat were going wild, saying Gabriel wasn't here for the couples' reality show; he was just here to experience life!

Jessica had to agree.

Why wasn't Gabriel, the shrewd businessman, haggling with the store owner? People in small towns are usually sharp and calculating, always looking for a deal. It wasn't like Gabriel to let the store owner have the upper hand.

Maybe Gabriel was planning to get a discount the next time he visited Milton City?

As Jessica pondered this, a customer walked in. The store owner's young daughter, who had been trying to get Gabriel's attention, finally gave up and reluctantly went back to her room to study. Gabriel had been organizing the freezer, neatly arranging some frozen treats and ice cream. The new customer bought a pack of cigarettes, then noticed the ice cream and bought two, along with a half-frozen drink.

An hour flew by, and when the store owner returned, she was so rushed she forgot to take off her apron. She walked in to find the freezer spotless and the cash register fuller by about a hundred dollars, all from the sales Gabriel had made in that hour.

The store owner blinked in surprise, not expecting Gabriel to do such a good job. Though she was indeed frugal, she knew she had to pay him fairly, especially with the cameras around. She quickly handed Gabriel twenty dollars, thanking him profusely.

Gabriel took the money and immediately bought a bottle of bug spray. Then, as if it was an afterthought, he mentioned, "These ice blocks are hard to deal with. I'll put them in a foam box and take care of them later."

"They're quite heavy, thank you so much. Will you be back tomorrow? I need to go home to cook at this time again. If you come, I..." The store owner beamed, trying to chat with Gabriel.

Gabriel subtly kept his distance, picked up the foam box filled with ice, and left.

The store owner couldn't help but sigh softly, "Such a handsome man, you don't see that every day..." Then she called out, "If you need work, come back tomorrow! I'll give you a raise, five more dollars an hour, how about that?"

Jessica was overjoyed, clutching her phone.

Should she praise Gabriel for his skyrocketing value, earning an extra five bucks in no time?

But then Jessica thought about the box of ice Gabriel had painstakingly brought back to their tent. He had stood by the freezer for so long, shoveling ice, which was no easy task. She had seen those ice blocks; they were thick and solid.

Her little "natural ice room tent" was so comfortably cool, all thanks to Gabriel's hard work that afternoon.

She definitely needed to show Gabriel some appreciation later, after all...
