Chapter 514 Recently Particularly Sleepy
As the New Year approached, the supermarkets in Xyleria were packed with people.
Jessica had been particularly sleepy lately and had gained a few pounds thanks to Sarah's feeding. She went out to the supermarket without makeup, wearing a big hat, sunglasses, and a mask, squeezing into the crowd. In such a crowded situation, no one could notice who she was.
Gabriel was different. On one side of the shelves, she was buying toys and school supplies, while Gabriel was calmly pushing a shopping cart through the vegetable section.
Weren't they supposed to be out buying gifts for Danielle? Why was he wandering into the vegetable section?
Jessica, holding a big box of toys that little girls like, squeezed through the crowd with difficulty and peeked into Gabriel's shopping cart.
Gabriel had actually bought quite a few groceries.
Was he planning to take her from the Harriman family mansion to live at South Hill Villa? Or was he going back to Blue Bay Apartments?
In any case, it was clear they weren't planning to return to the Harriman family tonight.
Sure enough, after they left the supermarket, Gabriel's driving route didn't lead towards the Harriman family, his company, or Blue Bay Apartments.
Jessica thought they were really going back to South Hill Villa. Thinking about the so-called genuine 1982 Lafite and those various antique tableware of unknown ages, she instinctively started calculating in the car that she definitely shouldn't touch the tableware later. If she broke or damaged anything, she would be heartbroken.
However, the car didn't turn into Azure Water Bay; instead, itcontinued straight in another direction.
Her previously puzzled vision gradually cleared until the car stopped at the old neighborhood that Jessica hadn't returned to in over two years.
When she sold this house, she felt a pang of regret. Although the security wasn't great and it was quite old, with many elderly neighbors, it was the first house she bought with all her savings after returning from the U.S. with Danielle. It held countless memories of her and Danielle, including the time when they dragged an unconscious and injured Gabriel back here.
Fortunately, the house was sold for a good price. It was said that the buyers were a middle-aged couple. Because Jessica was a celebrity, she couldn't appear in person, so Mackenzie helped her sell it, and Jessica never met the buyers.
Seeing Gabriel get out of the car, open the trunk, and take out the shopping bags as if he were going home, Jessica, still in a daze, got out of the car, closed the door, glanced in the direction of her old four-pane window, and quickly ran after him.
The same old unit door, the hallway where even the automatic sensor lights installed by each household were broken, remained dark even in broad daylight. But the air was filled with the aroma of various foods, the scent of ordinary, everyday life.
Reaching the original door, Jessica looked down and saw that the ordinary key lock had been replaced with a fingerprint and password lock. Seeing Gabriel's gaze directed at her, she thoughtfully looked at him and then remembered the entry code for Blue Bay Apartments. She couldn't help but reach out and try it. The door instantly made a sound, indicating it was unlocked.
Jessica was shocked.
Gabriel, carrying the shopping bags, entered the door. Seeing Jessica still standing outside like a statue, he turned back and looked at her, "What are you standing there for? Come in."
Jessica entered and was somewhat dazed by everything she saw inside.
