Chapter 675 Sweet Extra of Couple Variety Show 160
The pregnancy wasn't a secret, but if the whole crew knew, everyone might be overly cautious, which could affect the show's dynamic.
Being too considerate of Jessica wasn't ideal either. Even though she was pregnant, the audience was large and critical, and it could easily backfire on her.
So, after weighing all the factors, it was best if not everyone knew about the pregnancy.
When Cindy suddenly glanced at her, Jessica paused mid-bite into her pear. Over-explaining would seem like covering up, so she decided to keep it under wraps. But seeing Cindy's curious look, she didn't want to lie to her either.
Just as she was about to wink at Cindy, Debra suddenly said, "Jessica, I get carsick too. I heard eating sour pears can help with nausea and thirst. Does it work? Can I try one?"
Jessica looked up at Debra, who was already smiling and walking over.
Gabriel, noticing Debra's approach, didn't say much. He handed the bag of pears to Jessica, who quickly took out a few and gave them to Debra.
Debra thanked her cheerfully and walked away.
Whether Debra actually ate the pears or not, it immediately dispelled Cindy's curiosity and suspicion. Cindy thought she might have been overthinking it. If Jessica were really pregnant, Mr. Harriman wouldn't let her film while pregnant.
Jessica offered Cindy a few more pears, but Cindy quickly waved her off and sat back down.
Soon, the car started again. Jessica felt much better after eating the sour pear, with less nausea. She was about to close her eyes for a nap when a sports jacket was draped over her.
She turned her head, squinting at Gabriel, who was taking care of her so attentively. She smiled and mouthed, "Thank you, honey."
Gabriel didn't say anything. He adjusted the jacket on her and gently patted her arm, signaling her to rest.
The ride was quiet, and by the time they reached Oceancrest City, the sun was shining brightly. However, it was already past 3 PM when they arrived at the filming location, a forest park and horse riding area, nearing evening.
After getting off the bus, the director hadn't yet announced the evening's accommodations. They noticed a few production vehicles parked nearby, along with a Mercedes SUV. A young man and woman, the new guests, stepped out of the SUV.
"Everyone, you've had a long day, so we won't be filming tonight. Take the evening to rest, but we need to start early tomorrow, around 4 or 5 AM, because the forest park gets crowded with tourists after 10 AM. We need to finish filming early," the director said, handing out hotel locations and room keys through the staff. "We have two new guests joining us. They're students from Oceancrest City Film Academy, about to graduate, but already have some work under their belts. This is Hugo Graves and Elise Sinclair. Let's all get acquainted."
The new guests, already dressed in the show's sponsored sportswear, greeted everyone warmly. "Hello, everyone."
Elise, the young woman with a bun, looked directly at Jessica, her face lighting up with excitement. She bowed slightly, "Ms. Jenner, it's an honor!"
Jessica was puzzled.
