Chapter 286 Give Him the Opportunity to Enter

An assistant had just stepped out of the office when he saw Gabriel leaving the president's office with a strange woman hurrying beside him.

Landon and Wayne happened to come out of their office at that moment and saw the scene. They stood there silently until Jessica followed Gabriel into the elevator, then exchanged glances.

"Is Ms. Jenner wearing Mr. Harriman's clothes?" Wayne whispered to Landon. "Looks like last night was pretty wild."

Landon shot him a lukewarm glance. "Stop gossiping and get to work."

Wayne's smile quickly faded. "Oh."

They went to a nearby restaurant for breakfast. It wasn't fancy, but Danielle loved the food there, so Jessica picked it. Plus, the place had private rooms, which was a rare find given Jessica's current popularity. She was almost as famous as the hottest celebrities, making it easy for people to recognize her. This nearby breakfast spot with private rooms was a rare gem.

The waiter brought some milk, sandwiches, and other common breakfast items. She was really hungry, especially after last night's exertion.

Jessica took a bite of the sandwich and looked instantly satisfied.

Gabriel only drank milk, leaving the rest for her.

She quickly offered him the last bit. "These sandwiches are really good. Why didn't you eat any? No wonder I'm so full; I ate almost everything."

"Last night's dinner was quite filling and I ate late, so I'm not that hungry now." Gabriel didn't refuse the sandwich she offered, eating it without any pretense or disdain.

After breakfast, they returned to Blue Bay Apartments so Jessica could change her clothes.

By now, Caroline had already taken Danielle to kindergarten and didn't need to stay at the apartment during the day, so the place was empty.

Gabriel should have gone back to the 32nd floor, but he didn't have any clothes to change into since he had a wardrobe at the office.

When Jessica went to change, Gabriel naturally accompanied her to the 31st floor.

While Jessica was rummaging through her closet in the bedroom, Gabriel glanced at the door outside.

When Jessica finished changing and came out of the bedroom, she saw him looking at the door and asked, "What's up?"

"What's the current password?" Gabriel turned his head to her.

Jessica fell silent.

She had almost forgotten why she changed the fingerprint and password last time.

"Danielle's birthday."

As she spoke, she pressed four numbers on the keypad and then looked at him, seeing Gabriel smiling behind her. Changing the password was something he had asked her to do when she first moved in, but she hadn't done it at the time.

Now she was telling him directly, essentially giving him the opportunity to completely enter the house!

Wasn't this an unspoken invitation?

Jessica quickly moved her hand away from the keypad and went to the sofa to get her bag. As she walked back, she heard the keypad beeping and turned to see Gabriel entering the four numbers.

"Danielle's birthday is in two months, right?" Gabriel asked.

It was already October, and two months later would be just after the New Year, which was indeed around Danielle's birthday.

Seeing Gabriel thoughtfully looking at the four numbers, Jessica was about to speak when her phone vibrated in her bag. She turned to take it out and saw the caller ID.

Trinity.

She hadn't saved Trinity's number in her contacts but remembered it.

Trinity had been trying to contact her since last night, but Jessica's WhatsApp wouldn't accept her request, and her phone automatically blocked out-of-town numbers. Other numbers wouldn't get through either, so Trinity finally used her regular number to call.

Jessica had little patience for anything related to Trinity. She had done what she needed to do and resolved what needed resolving, so she saw no need for further contact.

If Trinity wanted to make a fuss, she could do it on Facebook; Jessica didn't mind.

The phone stopped vibrating, then started again. Jessica answered.

After a few seconds of hesitation, Trinity's voice came through, "Jessica?"

Jessica's tone was indifferent. "What do you want?"

Trinity’s voice trembled with barely suppressed rage. “What happened? Why would my mother be apprehended?”

“Perhaps you should consider what Linda might have done to necessitate such an action. Your indignation is misplaced, wouldn’t you agree?”

Trinity gritted her teeth. "Dad was called to D.C., and our uncles are now turning against us.You ruinedmy career and future . What did my mom do, and what did you do behind the scenes? The Jenner family is in chaos, all because of you! Jessica, the Jenner family raised you. Aren't you afraid of karma for being so ruthless?"

Jessica didn't hold back and retorted, "You're standing in the middle of your karma and asking if I'm afraid of it?"

"You..."

"Trinity, your mother Linda has played the role of a good mother in front of you and a gentle, family-oriented wife to Eugene. But the police will determine how many business disputes she's involved in. I don't need to do anything. You should focus on how much capital you have left, how to explain things to the Jenner family in D.C., and how to save Linda from legal consequences, instead of wasting time questioning me."

After a few seconds of silence, Trinity's voice softened. "Jessica, can we meet?"

"No. Say what you need to say here."

"Don't you want your mother's belongings?"

Jessica chuckled. "The Jenner family is under investigation, and you have no right to touch anything, including the attic. My belongings will be retrieved by someone else, and anything that doesn't belong to you will be judged by the elders in D.C. I can't enter the Jenner family now, and you think you can?"

Trinity's voice lowered. "Really? If it doesn't work, how about we discuss your two consecutive prenatal check-ups at Andes Women's Hospital in the M Country?"

Jessica's hand, about to hang up, froze.
