Chapter 475 Is Jimmy with you?

From the elevator to the room, Jessica remained silent the entire way.

Once inside, Gabriel practically dragged her to the bed, pressing her shoulders to make her sit down.

Gabriel looked down at her face, "Sit down, don't overthink. I've got everything under control."

He glanced at the time; it was just past 4 PM, and the sky in Washington was already a bit dim, though not yet dark. The tree branches outside were covered in a layer of silvery frost. The windows were tightly shut, and the room was warm and comforting.

Gabriel leaned in front of her, placing his hand on the back of her head, forcing her to look up at him. His gentle yet firm gaze met hers, "Stay in the hotel for the next couple of days and don't go out alone. I come here for you. Don't worry about my work; you are the most important."

Jessica looked at him, nodded, but said nothing.

Gabriel stroked her face, "Go take a hot bath. Did you have lunch? I'll ask Landon to buy some groceries. There's a small kitchen in the suite; I'll cook for you."

Jessica nodded again.

Gabriel kissed her forehead, "Go to the bathroom."

Jessica got up and walked to the bathroom, turned on the hot water, filled the fully automatic massage bathtub, undressed, and carefully avoided the scrapes on her wrist and hand as she settled into the water. She gradually relaxed and let out a long breath.

She soaked in the bath for about ten minutes, then opened her eyes in the misty room, recalling everything that had happened at the hospital today.

From those who followed her to Eugene and Samuel. Later, Samuel suddenly appeared on the first floor, seemingly to intercept her, as if to take her away. Was he really going to take her to the Jenner family or somewhere else? Although he appeared to be on the same side as Eugene, were his true intentions the same?

After all, if Eugene currently considered Samuel his biological child and teamed up with him, she was not only Eugene's biological daughter but also had Gabriel by her side. To Samuel, she was a formidable opponent, unlikely to be on the same side, destined to be at odds.

When she went to the hospital earlier, she hadn't informed anyone. There weren't many Jenner family members at the hospital yet, as it was only her first day back. She had only seen a few Jenner family members, and there were already endless schemes around her.

If she returned to the Jenner family, she probably wouldn't even be able to have a normal meal.

No wonder the Jenner family, which was rooted in Washington, seemed like a political coup but not a business family feud.

Gabriel knocked on the bathroom door, leaving her some quiet time alone without coming in, "You didn't take any clean clothes in. I left them at the bathroom door. Don't come out yet, and don't soak too long."

"Okay," Jessica replied.

Jessica didn't soak for long. After finishing her bath, she washed her face with cold water, dried herself off, opened the bathroom door, took the clothes left outside, changed, and walked out.

She dried her hair as she walked towards the small kitchen.

Having a stove and a small kitchen in a hotel room was no longer a novelty, but she hadn't seen such a fully equipped kitchen before. Maybe it was because it was her first time staying in a presidential suite, or perhaps because she had never cooked in a hotel room before. Mostly she went to the restaurant or ordered takeout.

Gabriel had changed into a gray cotton T-shirt. His tall and straight back was facing her as he skillfully sliced a potato, making it seem like they were at home in Xyleria rather than a hotel in Washington.

This instantly grounded Jessica, pulling her back from her drifting thoughts to solid ground.

Jessica approached with a towel, suddenly hugged him from behind, and when Gabriel turned to look at her, she stood on tiptoe and kissed him. Just as Gabriel was about to pull her in for a proper kiss, she quickly retreated, hopping away to the bathroom to find a hairdryer.

Jessica dried her hair quickly. After tidying up, she saw that Gabriel's cooking wasn't finished yet, so she curled up on the sofa with her phone. After a while, she moved to the bed and snuggled under the covers.

Lynn sent a Facebook message to confirm if she and Nolan had returned from the hospital. After replying, Jessica suddenly messaged Cynthia, who had already returned.

She sent three emojis, thinking Cynthia might see them later.

After all, it was only around 5 AM here, and Cynthia was probably still asleep.

Unexpectedly, Cynthia replied: [ ? ]

Jessica: [You're not asleep?]

Cynthia: [I had a task last night, just got back and was about to shower and rest.]

Jessica: [Is Jimmy with you?]

Cynthia's reply was slightly delayed by a barely noticeable two seconds.

Cynthia: [It's evening there. Aren't you usually busy with filming or events at this time? Is something urgent?]

As expected, her good friend Cynthia, even when Jessica rarely acted coy or curious, remained serious and avoided the topic.

Jessica smiled and got straight to the point,

Jessica: [I know there's no anti-tracking device available domestically; it's been banned for a long time. But I've encountered some issues with the Jenner family in Washington and might need one.]

As soon as she sent the message, her phone rang. Cynthia called directly.

"What happened that you need an anti-tracking device?" Cynthia asked.

Jessica recounted everything that had happened today and mentioned the missed call. Before sending the Facebook message, Jessica had checked the missed call number, which were all spoofed and manipulated.

She suspected that some people called not to get her to answer but to get a signal, allowing them to track her GPS location and, consequently, mastering her movements.

To prevent those tracking , she needed to block such suspicious signals.

This was something she had heard Cynthia mention during her time in the Country M.

But such devices weren't available domestically.

Cynthia said, "Jessica, you're considerate, but anti-tracking devices are also risky. If they were indeed safe, Mr. Harriman would have installed one on your phone long ago. Mr. Harriman can get what I can even more easily. If he hasn't installed it on your phone, it means that while the anti-tracking software blocks others, it also blocks his ability to protect you."
