Chapter 174 Teaching You How to Behave

Linda's hand was only halfway up in the air, more out of habit and instinct from the past decade, and seeing Jessica's confident expression made her want to slap her down.

Unfortunately, the timing was off, the setting was wrong, and as Linda's movement halted, Jessica's words seemed to pound on Linda's temples.

As the spokesperson for Tilans, Jessica couldn't afford to lose face, and neither could the Jenner family!

"It's been ages since we last met, and you're no longer a Jenner. If you're dredging up the past now, it's clear you've never really let go. "

Linda looked at Jessica coldly. "After all, that movie was a huge hit back then. It just so happened that because of you, Trinity couldn't dance in person. It was you who stood in for her. Trinity became the youngest domestic film queen precisely because of that movie. You've been envious for so many years, feeling unbalanced. I can understand that."

On the revolving staircase behind Trinity, a tall figure slowly descended at this moment, stepping out of the shadows above until the identity of the person became clear.

Jessica's voice was calm and clear as she said, "Even if you resort to old tricks, you should know the appropriate context. You have lived a privileged life since childhood, yet at over fifty years old, you still act like someone lacking wisdom. How dare you, a younger generation, teach you how to behave?"

"Jessica, my mother is your elder. Don't go too far!" Trinity's words had not yet finished when a man had already walked up behind her. "What's going on?"

Trinity's expression changed rapidly, from sternly reprimanding Jessica to looking indignant and innocent as she glanced at Keegan. Her facial expressions shifted more dramatically than any scene she had portrayed in movies or TV shows before.

"It's nothing. My mom and I ran into Jessica. She didn't like seeing us and got my mom so upset that her hand was shaking," Trinity said as she linked arms with Keegan. "Keegan, some people have changed, no longer the familiar individuals we once knew. She lacks manners and politeness and is vicious and cunning. Looks can indeed be deceiving."

Keegan's gaze had not left Jessica since descending the stairs, even as Trinity spoke to him.

Jessica stood calmly in place, paying no attention to him. With a light smile, she simply admired Trinity's exceptional acting skills and offered no further explanation.Keegan paid no heed to Trinity's successive provocations; Keegan asked Jessica, "Jessica, why aren't you speaking?"

It felt as though time had rewound to five years ago when Trinity fell down the stairs, and Keegan happened to be visiting the Jenner family. He had rushed to help Trinity up and heard her tearful accusations. At that time, Keegan asked Jessica the same words in different tones.  .

Five years ago, he had asked, "Jessica, how could you be so impulsive? Why are you standing there in silence? Why not apologize quickly?"

Five years later, his tone was clearly different. He didn't want to rely solely on Trinity's account. He was waiting for Jessica to speak, for her to explain the reasons, and for her to clarify.

It seemed that some had matured over the years.

"Mr. Chloe, I suggest you buy more bone-strengthening pills for your fiancée so she doesn't keep falling in front of others and kneeling. I'm afraid it will shorten my life," Jessica casually remarked before turning and walking away, not sparing a glance back at the people behind her.

Zoey and Mackenzie had watched the entire scene from above the revolving staircase. Although the music in the banquet hall was loud, they couldn't hear what was being said from that distance, but their actions revealed a general idea.

Seeing Jessica leave, Mackenzie suddenly descended the stairs. As she passed the trio, she glanced at Trinity and Linda, speaking loud enough for all three to hear, "Mr. Chloe, in such situations, remember to make good use of surveillance. Every detail is captured on camera, showing whatever angle you desire."

Mackenzie then glanced at Trinity, smiling slyly. "While an actress's legs are precious, Jessica's dress is also expensive. Luckily, it wasn't stepped on. Otherwise, that kick might have cost a hefty sum."

With that, Mackenzie followed Jessica's departure, leaving behind the grim faces of Trinity and Linda, along with Keegan's tightly pursed lips.

At that moment, Zoey hurried down as well, clearing her throat as if to bolster her slightly weakened presence. As she passed the trio, she softly remarked, "If you can't handle such a grand evening gown, you can choose some delicate and exquisite niche styles to avoid wearing high heels that are too tall despite her height. Otherwise, she might not be able to stand steadily, risking a sprained ankle."Trinity thought angrily, 'Even a mere assistant dared to criticize me?'

Trinity glared at Zoey instantly, but with Keegan's displeased expression nearby, she refrained from reacting.

Zoey didn't meet her gaze, casually making her comments as if it were a passing remark, "Jessica, however, has a standard height and figure. She can effortlessly wear any color and style of high heels, walking confidently and steadily, unlike some who aren't even five feet six inches tall but insist on padding themselves to nearly five feet seven inches. There have been many cases of sprained ankles due to such actions."

After her words, Zoey quickly slipped away, following Mackenzie as if seeking refuge, linking arms with her without looking back as they headed into the banquet hall.Trinity's face turned pale, and Linda was visibly trembling with anger.

Through gritted teeth, Linda suddenly turned to Keegan, who remained composed. "Is this the kind of people Jessica associates with? Childish! Each one more uncultured than the next! Don't they have mothers? Don't they have Elders to guide them? How can such people exist?!"

Keegan subtly pushed Trinity's hand away from him and calmly looked at Linda's furious expression.

"Aunt Linda, it's more important for you to discipline your daughter than anything else."

"What did you say?" Linda exclaimed.

"What do you mean?" Trinity questioned.

Keegan's gaze was cold and unwavering. He did not avoid Mrs. Jenner's presence as he spoke icily, "Don't you remember what I warned you about? Trinity, I've given you chances. Choose a day, hold a press conference, inform the media, and announce the cancellation of our engagement."

Linda couldn't believe it. "Keegan, you can't be serious!"

Trinity knew he wasn't joking. In an instant, she grabbed his arm tightly, ready to speak, but he didn't give her the chance. He pushed her hand away expressionlessly and walked away.

"Keegan!"

"Trinity? What's going on?"

"Keegan, wait for me."

Jessica entered the crowd in the banquet hall, taking the tall glass handed to her by a waiter, unaware of the commotion at the VIP entrance.

People whispered quietly, "What's happening over there? Even Jesse Robinson and Craig Armstrong went to greet him personally? Who has arrived?"

"It seems to be the person from the Harriman Group..."
