Chapter 114 Is This How You Treat Your Sugar Daddy

It was uncertain whether he was addressing the razor or reacting to her earlier words. Gabriel pressed her hand lightly and asked, "Why are you in such a hurry?"
Jessica found that she couldn't break free, so she simply withdrew her hand and at the same time took away two plates directly from in front of him.
Originally, she had been considering the status of the person in front of her, trying to be as polite as possible, but in a flash, she tore through this layer of politeness, wishing to kick him off the fifth floor, hoping that this big boss would leave quickly and stop bothering her in her small house.
Gabriel raised his chin slightly and pointed to the two thick folders on her dining table. "I haven't seen these here before, what are they?"
Jessica's eyes followed his gesture to the side.
"You mean those two folders? Those are scripts for two new dramas. Since the last Twitter hot search incident, some studios preparing for new dramas have included me in the list of backup female stars with some traffic, but the prepared stars are just prepared stars, and there are no mature works yet. Popularity and strength are still under observation."
"So the scripts being handed to me at the moment are for two web dramas, one ancient and one modern."
"I haven't had time to look at these two scripts yet. Mackenzie's suggestion is that the current drama hasn't finished shooting, so there's no rush to take on another one. And because of the attention, there will be more scripts coming in later, so we'll see then."
With that, Jessica, who had been glaring at him just now, softened her expression quite tactfully.
"I owe my current sudden attention to you, and it has led many people to think I have some powerful background. Everyone's imagination is surprisingly strong now. Even Mackenzie suspects that I might really have a rich backer but haven't told her!"
Faced with such vague rumors, many artists in the industry tended to spend money to suppress the hot searches first, then built good relationships with various media outlets, and bought more marketing to slowly clean up.
But not only did this result in heavy financial losses, it only temporarily suppressed negative news that wasn't really damaging. In the future, it would still be discussed by fans for a while.
Even these inexplicable negative news would shadow every day in the future, becoming a timed bomb anytime, anywhere.
Jessica analyzed, "The biggest problem at the time was that the makeup room was temporarily set up on the set and there were no cameras installed. Even if there were surveillance recordings to prove my innocence, no one would believe it. Boring explanations don't generate explosive negative news. The cost of rumor-mongering in the entertainment industry is too low, and negative news on hot searches is quickly amplified by various marketing accounts. Without strong measures, it's really hard to solve."
However, Gabriel not only used strong methods but also swiftly and accurately erased any trace of negative news overnight.
"Do I have to rely on a rich person to have the level of skill and precision like you? Even Mackenzie has already imagined various stories about me relying on a wealthy person, but I can't explain it to her."
Jessica, while speaking, picked up a piece of pineapple that had already been cut on another plate, chewed on it, and her eyes narrowed from the sourness.
Gabriel's gaze softened as he said, "Is this how you treat the wealthy person you rely on?"
Jessica's surprised gaze fell on his face, and Gabriel's indifferent eyes glanced at the two plates she had just picked up.
Jessica couldn't help but twitch the corner of her mouth without a trace, quickly put down the two plates, pushed the plate of cut fruit and the other plate of assorted desserts in front of him, and made a gesture as if to say please help yourself.
Gabriel raised an eyebrow, "What should I eat with?"
Jessica was speechless.
She quickly turned to get a small fork, then ran back and placed the fork next to his hand. "Please go ahead. I'm off to check if Danielle has finished washing up."
After speaking, Jessica turned and lifted her face towards the ceiling and silently rolled her eyes.
What top-tier, premium fruit hadn't he tried from all corners of the world?
What's the point of comparing apples and pineapples with her? That pineapple was outrageously sour!
Go ahead, eat up. Let it sour his taste buds to death!
Jessica briskly returned to the children's room and swiftly bathed Danielle, whose face was covered in toothpaste, in the bathtub, cleaning her up promptly before wrapping her in a towel.
Once dressed in a cute little nightgown, Danielle showed no signs of sleepiness. Barefoot, she dashed out and threw herself at Gabriel's legs, excitedly asking, "Uncle Spencer, would you like to stay here tonight?"

Coming out of the children's room, Jessica quickly interjected upon hearing the conversation, "He doesn't want to!"
Gabriel, seemingly oblivious to Jessica's resolute words, picked up the barefoot Danielle held around his leg and placed her on a nearby chair.
Seizing the opportunity, Danielle swiftly turned and climbed onto the dining table, where she spotted a plate of sweet snacks and fruits. Her eyes shining brightly, she said, "Uncle Spencer, I want to eat that!"
As she spoke, Danielle pointed to the mango pastry that Jessica had just taken a bite of.
Gabriel, with his gaze lowered, observed Danielle's determined attempt to reach for the plate on the table and inquired, "Have you brushed your teeth just now?"
Danielle, her hand nearly touching the plate, froze in that moment, maintaining her position on the table. She tilted her head innocently towards Gabriel, blinking her eyes softly, and said in a small voice,
"I'll just have one."
As she spoke, Danielle extended a fair, delicate finger and pouted, looking at him imploringly. "Really, just one!"
Gabriel remained silent, his demeanor calm and unwavering as he gazed at her.
Under his silent gaze, Danielle suddenly obediently withdrew her hand, murmuring softly, "Alright, I understand, it could cause cavities. I'll have it when I wake up tomorrow."
After saying this, Danielle curiously reached for the buttons on his coat sleeve as if seeing these dark silver buttons for the first time, fiddling with them for a while.
It wasn't until Jessica called for her to return to the room to sleep that Danielle, reluctantly holding onto his arm, seemed unwilling to let go, her eyes clearly pleading for him not to leave.
However, unable to voice this, she hesitantly blinked her slightly teary eyes and returned to the children's room.
After finally coaxing Danielle to sleep, Jessica returned to the living room only to find that only an apple slice was missing from the fruit platter in front of Gabriel.
She approached him with a smile. "Why didn't you eat?"
Simultaneously, Gabriel's phone chimed with a message notification.
Casting a glance at her approaching figure, he picked up his phone, his gaze passing over the illuminated screen where a newly received encrypted email sat.
As Jessica leaned in closer, she playfully speared a piece of pineapple with a small fork, wiggling it before him. Sweetly, with a faux-sugary voice, she said, "Gabriel, if you don't mind, I can feed you."
Gabriel, his eyes still fixed on the phone, replied, "I don't mind."
