Chapter 277 When Did You Hurt Your Leg?
The folks outside the lounge looked totally stunned.
Trinity felt like her world was falling apart. She always thought fate was on her side and Jessica would never outshine her.
She lunged forward, grabbed the mic from Jessica, and stormed out, shoving her pale-faced manager aside. She dashed to the stage where the host, who was supposed to be hyping up the crowd, stood silently with the mic. The audience was buzzing, their whispers filling her ears.
Trinity snatched the mic and rushed onto the stage, blurting out, "What I said earlier was just out of anger. Jessica's accusations are baseless. I was just using her words as an analogy!"
The crowd's expressions shifted. The same people who had looked at Jessica with disdain now turned their cold, disgusted stares on Trinity.
She felt like she couldn't breathe, gripping the mic tightly. Her manager didn't step in, and no one was there to handle the PR crisis during this live broadcast.
It seemed like it was too late for everything.
The number of viewers on the live stream had already broken records on a certain platform.
Comments were flying, filled with curses and shocked reactions.
Five years ago, Trinity had wowed everyone with that dance, adding so much to that movie. And now, it turned out that the dance, which seemed to elevate everything, wasn't even performed by Trinity?
So, the Best Actress award she won for that stunning dance was a sham.
A car accident, sulfuric acid.
Could such a beautiful woman really be capable of such things?
They had always seen her as a goddess, even though her acting had been mediocre over the years. Everyone had held onto the image of "The Red Cavalier" and never doubted her past talent and brilliance.
But now, they were being told it was all a lie!
Jessica was the real dancer behind the scenes!
At this moment, not only in the live stream but also on Facebook, in major entertainment forums, and news sections, anywhere young people gathered, they were all talking about this explosive news.
Everyone was curious, everyone was paying attention.
Jessica, despite being cursed at for a few days, had stirred up the whole matter to a point where it couldn't be easily suppressed.
So, the assumption Trinity made in the break room earlier, that the news wouldn't get out because of the capital's protection, was no longer valid.
Trinity had been in this industry for so many years, always receiving admiration, envy, and affection from every audience member. She had never been denied by so many eyes. She was emotionally collapsing, standing on the stage, gripping the mic tightly. No matter how much she tried to control her expression, everyone in the live stream could clearly see the panic in her eyes.
"It's not true, it's not like that. She has no evidence!" She clung to the lack of evidence. "Jessica has no proof. What I said earlier was just..."
"Just what?" Suddenly, Jessica's voice came through the speakers.
Trinity turned sharply and saw Jessica back on stage.
At that moment, everyone on stage started seriously comparing the two of them again, remembering Jessica's dance that had wowed everyone, even with all the bias and disapproval.
Trinity glared at Jessica with pure hatred. "You've been a nobody for so long, and it's made you bitter, hasn't it? You think life’s been unfair, so you've been scheming since you were a kid. Jessica, I really misjudged you! You're jealous of everything I have. If you can't have it, you want to destroy me. What do you think you can get now? You want the Best Actress title? Fine, take it!"
Jessica didn't react to her venomous words, just coldly replied, "I don't care about thetitle. If I wanted all this, wouldn't it have been better to come forward five years ago? I was forced by your mother to dance for you back then. I had no support and no way to fight her. This gain and loss mean nothing to me. Now, I'm just setting the record straight. Did I plagiarize your dance, or did the dance originally belong to me, Trinity? Can you explain that clearly?"
"I can't explain it clearly, but do you have evidence?" Trinity clung to the lack of proof.
Jessica chuckled, glancing at her leg. "When did you injure your leg?"
Trinity replied firmly, "Four years ago, during a fight scene! I fell from a height, and all the crew members can testify. I injured my leg four years ago!"
"Injured is injured. I didn't ask much. Why do you keep emphasizing four years ago? Whether you really fell or not four years ago, I won't ask for now. I just ask you, what about the time you got injured at the Jenner family villa five years ago?"
"I got injured four years ago. I wasn't injured five years ago!" Trinity's voice rose significantly.
"Five years ago at the Jenner family villa, didn't you say I pushed you? So, your leg wasn't injured at all back then? You cried and threw yourself into Keegan's arms, saying I pushed you. How do you explain that? You can deny your past injuries, but can you deny what you said to Keegan back then?"
Trinity's face turned pale.
Keegan had already canceled the engagement, and she no longer had any trust from him.
And now, she was facing too many eyes.
Two seconds later, Trinity insisted. "I don't remember that. Jessica, you've been talking nonsense for so long, telling everyone stories without any proof. Aren't you bored?"
The audience and the comments also began to express doubts, "Yeah, although we heard what Trinity said backstage, Jessica still needs to provide concrete evidence. Otherwise, how is this different from kids arguing? Are they treating us like fools?"
Jessica then said, "Please, everyone watching, check my Facebook in two minutes, at exactly 3 PM."
She had scheduled a Facebook post.
Everyone in the audience quickly opened Facebook, curiously waiting.
One minute passed quickly. When Jessica's post went live, everyone hurriedly clicked on the pictures in the post.
It was a post without any text, just a few pictures.
The first image presented a five-year-old medical record from a hospital in Xyleria, detailing the diagnosis of Trinity's fractured leg.
The second image displayed an X-ray of Trinity's leg, also captured five years prior.
The third image revealed a surgical consent form signed by Trinity, explicitly referencing the fracture and bearing a date confirming the procedure took place five years ago.
