"Threw up again?" Gabriel set the breakfast on the table and headed to the bathroom to help Jessica.
Jessica didn't really need help, but after bending over and throwing up for a while, she couldn't straighten up immediately. As a young actress, she often had to do wire stunts, which inevitably led to some back issues.
Hers weren't too serious, but pregnancy made her body more fragile than usual.
"It's fine, you get used to it after a while. Did you go out early to get breakfast?" Jessica looked up at him. "Doesn't the hotel serve breakfast?"
"The hotel breakfast starts at 5:30, and by then the show will already be recording. Are you sure you'll have time to come back and eat?" Gabriel helped her to the bed and moved her hair over her shoulder. "Drink some water, freshen up, and then eat your breakfast."
"Did you already eat?" Jessica could tell the breakfast he brought back smelled delicious. She hadn't had a sandwich in a while, and with her stomach acting up, the past few days had been tough.
The show always had a chef traveling with them, but due to the game tasks, the chef rarely got to showcase his skills. Jessica thought she might finally get to taste his cooking today since the hotel breakfast was too late, but clearly, Gabriel had other plans.
"Yeah, I ate. You drink some water first." Gabriel handed her a cup of warm water.
After drinking the warm water, Jessica felt a bit better. She went back to the bathroom to freshen up and then came out to eat breakfast. It was still warm and tasted just right.
All the guests gathered downstairs around 4:30 AM. The director and crew were already sitting at a table. They thought the recording hadn't started yet, but they soon noticed the cameras were already set up in the hotel lobby.
Clayton stretched and yawned, "Oh man, are we trying to wake up earlier than the roosters now? The hotel breakfast isn't even ready yet. What are we supposed to eat?"
"You guys haven't eaten either? Perfect timing. The chef has gone to the hotel kitchen to prepare breakfast for everyone. It should be ready soon. Sit down and eat before we start recording," Marshall waved them over to the table.
"Is the show finally giving us a free breakfast?" Brent said incredulously as he sat down. "I hope there's no catch. I still remember that episode at the guesthouse where I could barely afford breakfast. And on Mantanani Island, we had to bring our own noodles and catch food from the sea. We hardly spent any money. Are they not counting the budget today? I don't buy it."
"Was it really that bad the last two episodes?" Hugo asked, pouring Maurice a glass of water with a smile.
"You have no idea. We couldn't even afford a boxed lunch. We had to budget for instant noodles at the highway rest stop," Brent scoffed. "So if they're saying we have breakfast now without mentioning the budget, there's definitely something else waiting for us."
"Stop talking nonsense. Didn't you eat ribs on Mantanani Island? And the stuff in the villa fridge? I saw you eating," Marshall scolded Brent.
