Chapter 699 Sweet Extra of Couple Variety Show 184

Jessica snapped back to reality, noticing that everyone was still presenting their evidence. For some reason, the guests' attention had shifted towards their direction.

"Mr. Harriman, who are you planning to vote for as the murderer?" Brent, frustrated beyond measure, had somehow replaced Clayton as the prime suspect. Desperate for support, he looked pleadingly at Gabriel.

Even Maurice seemed inclined to vote for him earlier. Brent scanned the room and decided that Gabriel, who always stayed out of the fray, was his best bet.

No matter how the others behaved, they were all part of this circle. Even the calmest and most rational among them couldn't help but add a bit of performance for the cameras.

But Gabriel remained composed, treating this whole affair as just a stroll with Jessica.

An outsider's perspective is often the clearest. Gabriel must be the most clear-headed.

Brent's silent plea to Gabriel seemed to scream: Our funding depends on you, Gabriel!

Gabriel lifted his eyelids slightly, first glancing at the various camera angles on the projector screen, then giving Brent a cool look. He replied, "Did you wake up from a dream craving a cigarette?"

Brent was speechless.

The universe is against me!

Gabriel clearly had no intention of saving him. Not only did he refuse to help, but he also subtly made things worse.

Brent sat there, fuming, his mouth twitching.

Could he really admit that he had woken up in the middle of the night from a dream, craving a cigarette, and had run out as soon as he could?

Kevin suddenly spoke up, "Jessica, did you have a main course during last night's dinner with everyone?"

Everyone looked at Kevin, puzzled.

Amy glanced at him, too.

Jessica and Gabriel both turned their attention to him.

Kevin remained calm, speaking softly, "We're analyzing the case, so we need to consider everyone's habits. I've worked with Ms. Jenner on the same set for a few months, so I have some impression of her eating habits."

Meeting Gabriel's gaze, Kevin's speech slowed slightly but didn't actually pause, "If she had a main course late at night, Ms. Jenner usually doesn't eat much the next morning. Sometimes, even when her assistant brings her breakfast, she lets it sit for a while because she's not very hungry."

The guests looked at Kevin, momentarily silent.

Internally, they were all thinking the same thing: Kevin must have gotten familiar with Gabriel over the past few days on the show to dare provoke him like this.

Wasn't this a clear admission that he used to care about Jessica on set?

Even though it was in the past, bringing it up now on the show could spark a trending topic once it aired.

Kevin didn't seem to care about the gossiping looks. He continued to look at Gabriel. The two men exchanged calm glances, as if they were just discussing the weather.

Gabriel, too, seemed to be listening to a business meeting, completely unruffled, with no trace of the jealousy or anger everyone expected.

Kevin went on, "So, under these circumstances, Ms. Jenner wouldn't be hungry enough at that hour for Mr. Harriman to need to buy her breakfast."
