Chapter 444 Jessica's Couple Car

Even though there were tons of rumors flying around, it was just jealous folks spreading gossip behind closed doors.

When Jessica heard the chatter, she was still carefully using up the last bit of her compact powder, making sure not to waste any of it.

It was obvious that no matter what people said, she didn't give a damn.

Before calling it a night, Jessica had one more scene to shoot. Just as she changed into her costume and stepped out of the car, she noticed a few guys from the props team huddled together. Their work badges were missing, and they looked pretty down, chatting with the stage manager about something.

Someone saw Jessica glancing their way as she walked by, and the props guys quickly looked away, avoiding eye contact.

Jessica glanced at them and then at the props team's van, noticing that not everyone had gotten out. Some new hires and the always diligent stagehands were still inside.

She had a pretty good idea of what was going on, but she just walked past without reacting and headed into the studio.

After wrapping up a scene, she was about to watch the playback with the director when she overheard some stagehands whispering, "Did they really get the boot?"

"I heard they got caught taking bribes. The Nelson's in hot water now, and since they took money, it's no shock they got busted."

"How much did they take? They've been messing with props right under everyone's noses for ages. If our lead actors weren't so chill, there would've been a huge blow-up by now."

"Not much, just some extra cash on the side. But Jessica's really had it rough. Last month, she almost fell from a tree during a scene. Luckily, she caught herself. If she had fallen onto the rocks below, it would've been a disaster."

"I heard there's quite a ruckus at The Nelson today too..." The stagehand lowered his voice even more, whispering a few words.

Jessica couldn't hear clearly anymore as the director called her over to check the playback.

Sam grinned as he watched Jessica's every expression in the playback. "I have a good feeling this movie will make over three billion dollars and win some awards. You and Kevin's acting is really moving. I'm sure it'll be a huge hit once it's out."

Then Sam smiled at Jessica. "Picked your next project yet? What genre are you thinking? Sebastian wants to team up on another movie with me. Compared with movies, TV series take too long."

Jessica, while watching the playback, said, "The studio has an annual plan for the artists. I've got a few scripts, but I might take a break early next year and not take on any new projects for a while."

Sam raised an eyebrow. "In Sebastian's and my eyes, you're the perfect choice for the female lead in our next movie. It's a fantasy genre, something you haven't done before. The script's already been sent to your agent. Didn't she tell you?"

Lynn knew Jessica planned to take a break after this movie, whether to rest or move behind the scenes. She wasn't planning to take on any new projects for now.

Lynn probably liked the script and wanted to wait until Jessica's desire to step back cooled down before bringing it up, to avoid any conflict in career decisions later.

"It's probably in my car," Jessica said, "I'll look tonight."

"Do more than just look," Sam insisted, "Give it a proper read. This genre is perfect for you. You can't get complacent in this business. You should be aiming for a Best Actress award."

Everyone in the industry knew about the feud between Jessica and Trinity. The Best Actress title was a big deal for Jessica.

She smiled, "Okay."

The Nelson Group was in deep trouble lately, with their stock taking a hit and major partners causing issues. The group's funds and all ongoing projects were suddenly frozen, like they were on the brink of collapse overnight.

The news reported that Carl had a sudden collapse during a company meeting today and was rushed to the hospital, rumored to be due to a heart attack.

It wasn't hard to figure out what had happened.

It seemed the Jenner family in Washington also had some dealings with the Nelson Group. Daniel had been calling Jessica a lot these past few days, but she had blocked him. When he called from other numbers, Jessica ignored them, setting her phone to silent and handing it to Zoey, focusing on her filming.

After Carl was hospitalized, the women he had been involved with were surprisingly considerate, all coincidentally visiting him at the hospital and being caught by the media at the entrance, including Donna.

News traveled fast in their circles. Two years ago, Donna had a conflict with Jessica. The incidents surrounding the release of "Sweet Ferris Wheel" were all due to Donna clashing with Jessica. Now, Jessica was widely known as Mrs. Harriman while Donna's former sugar daddy lay in the hospital, unconscious.

Donna said to the interview camera, "Some people may think they're untouchable, but don't get too cocky. These wealthy families are complicated. Holding onto a man's heart…well, that's never certain. You're not the only butterfly in the world."

After saying that, she dodged the camera and quickly got into her car.

After watching the interview video on her phone, Jessica turned to Lynn. "Do I look like a butterfly?"

Lynn glanced at Jessica, who was still in her white dress. "A white butterfly."

Jessica didn't care, got up to change her clothes, and prepared to drive her white Audi home. Just as she finished changing and stepped out of the trailer, she heard some noise outside. Turning to look, she saw many crew members who hadn't left yet, looking into the distance. Some occasionally glanced towards her trailer, as if it had something to do with her.

She hesitated, walked to the trailer door, and looked in the direction everyone was staring. She suddenly saw a white Bentley parked in the lot near the set.

That white Bentley seemed to be the same model as the black one Gabriel often drove, a matching couple's set, with matching license plates. Even though she hadn't seen the one who owned the car, Jessica's eyes widened!

If she remembered correctly, didn't someone say Gabriel's Bentley was a limited edition worldwide?

This white model was even rarer.
