Chapter 551 Sweet Extra of Couple Variety Show 36
Because money was tight, they faced a lot of restrictions.
Jessica now thought even a five-dollar mosquito repellent was too expensive. She figured she could endure a couple of nights of mosquito bites; it was just too extravagant!
At home, Jessica was used to a more relaxed environment. But now, surrounded by people and cameras just outside their tent, it felt different. It was just the two of them here, and it felt oddly unlike their bedroom at home. Normally, Jessica wasn't the clingy type, even though she and Gabriel were very close. She had never felt the need to constantly be in his arms like this.
But now, Jessica was genuinely glued to Gabriel, not wanting to let go. She realized she had been more clingy lately, probably because of the change in their surroundings.
Gabriel naturally didn't let go of her either. He pulled the pillow over, and they lay down together. Jessica rested her head on his arm, snuggled up in his embrace, and whispered, "It's only the first day. We don't know what other challenging games and tasks might come our way. But Marshall seems okay. He's not like those new directors who rush to create something sensational for attention. He's not overly ambitious. If we can keep this slow pace, budget travel won't be a problem."
Despite her words, Jessica's face couldn't hide her happiness. Gabriel, with one arm under her head and the other around her waist, looked at her with a soft gaze. "I can tell you're enjoying this job."
"Am I that obvious?" Jessica raised her eyebrows but stayed honestly snuggled in Gabriel's arms. She whispered near his chin, "Isn't it because you're with me the whole time? You give me confidence."
Jessica was never this clingy at home. She knew they were in a tent, with countless staff and cameras just twenty feet away. Even if they couldn't be seen, their voices could be heard.
They couldn't do anything here except sleep.
Yet Jessica boldly started to tease him.
Gabriel's hand tightened around her waist in warning, his dark eyes locked on the mischievous Jessica. When she poked his collarbone for the umpteenth time, he suddenly grabbed her hand, leaned down, and gave her a restrained but difficult kiss on the tip of her nose. His voice was husky, "Stop it, sleep."
If they were at home, Gabriel would have mischievously pulled Jessica's hand down to his lower abdomen. But now, he was cautious and extremely aware, even though the cameras couldn't see them. Jessica's innocent teasing was the most dangerous.
They were already lying close together, and Jessica felt a certain threat and warning from below. Her hand trembled, and she quickly pulled it away from Gabriel, turning over to face away from him. "I'm going to sleep now, goodnight!"
She then grabbed the big white bear belonging to Danielle from her suitcase and hugged it.
Gabriel was speechless, suddenly ignored and faced with Jessica's back.
Jessica had been sleeping well lately. After a bit of cuddling with Gabriel, she turned over and hugged the bear, falling asleep within a minute.
Cold-hearted Jessica slept peacefully, her breathing even. Behind her, Gabriel looked down at himself, sighed, and reached out to move the bear from her arms. But Jessica instinctively hugged the bear tighter in her sleep, refusing to let go.
