Chapter 399 Your Eyes Always Only Have Jessica
The crew's been split into Team A and Team B since last month for filming. Jessica's always been in Team A. Even though the locations are mostly the same, the director and assistant director, along with the staff, are split into two teams. The main goal is to shoot primary and secondary scenes at the same time to save on the filming schedule.
Today was the first time Jessica saw the two newbies who joined the crew a few days ago. One of them was the girl everyone talked about, the one Mr. Harriman personally brought in, supposedly a relative.
No one could remember her exact name, but after coming back from being a trainee in South Korea, she started using the stage name Amy. The crew sometimes called her Amy, other times something else. It took Jessica a few days to figure out who they meant.
The chance to meet this Amy came when she, looking more like a rich kid than Nicholas, hired a flower truck to publicly show her love to Kevin, claiming she'd win him over before the end of filming "Shadow Kill."
The pink flower truck was loaded with juice and desserts, and even had a mobile screen playing clips from Kevin's various films and TV shows, with countless hearts and love messages floating across the screen.
This was a flower truck often hired by fan clubs in the entertainment industry to support their idols.
If Jessica didn't know it was Amy who arranged this, she would've thought Kevin's fans had come to visit the set.
"What’s going on?" Lynn asked Jessica, looking at the scene by the flower truck in shock.
Jessica also looked over and saw Amy still in her post-scene clothes, handing out juice and Kevin fan club banners to the crew and other staff.
Zoey, following behind Jessica, said, "You guys don’t know? That Amy secretly joined Kevin’s fan club while she was in South Korea. She’s actually his fan. She actually plans to chase Kevin after she terminated her contract with the South Korean company, that's why she insisted on coming back."
Jessica gave Zoey a sympathetic look, "I remember you also liked Kevin quite a bit."
Zoey turned her head angrily, "I didn’t. As an artist assistant, I can’t be a fan. I’ve always been very professional!"
But her face still couldn’t hide the jealousy, looking like her idol was about to be taken by someone else.
Back in the trailer, Zoey couldn’t help but grumble, "That girl went to South Korea to be a trainee just to chase idols. Who knows if she ever met her favorite one. Now she’s somewhat famous herself, and she’s entering the entertainment industry to be an actress just to get close to Kevin. She even pulled strings to get into our crew as a minor character just to approach Kevin. She’s a fan invading an artist’s privacy! Just relying on her money and background, she’s the biggest fan invading an artist’s privacy!"
Lynn reminded her, "Since she’s rich and well-connected, it’s just crazy about chasing love. If she’s really related to Mr. Harriman, no matter how good Kevin’s family is, it would be considered a step up, not a fan invading an artist’s privacy."
Zoey felt even more aggrieved, "I hope Kevin ignores her."
Lynn laughed, "Come on, she’s just eighteen. Kevin would accept her chasing unless he got mad. Besides, he only has eyes for you, Jessica."
Suddenly being mentioned, Jessica said, "What does this have to do with me? I just found out today that my assistant is deeply in love with my co-star. Don’t get me in trouble. If Zoey gets upset and puts laxatives in my thermos, I won’t have to shoot all day!"
"That’s different. I enjoy shipping Jessica and Kevin as an on-screen couple, but that girl is unacceptable," Zoey said firmly.
Jessica raised an eyebrow at her, "Oh, so you’ve been secretly shipping my on-screen couple."
Zoey grinned and quickly handed Jessica the thermos, "Drink some warm water to calm down. No laxatives in it."
The set was buzzing all day. When Jessica got off the trailer to shoot, she finally witnessed the rich girl’s grand gesture to chase her idol.
Amy went straight to Kevin, who had just finished a scene, to express her love. Many staff members gathered around to watch the drama unfold.
Kevin looked at the flower truck, then at the fan support setup, and finally at the eighteen-year-old Amy following him. He suppressed the urge to twitch his mouth and smiled politely, "Sorry, I’m not interested in minors."
Amy’s eyes lit up, "I’m an adult! I turned eighteen a few months ago when I returned to the country!"
As she spoke, she suddenly pulled out her ID, "If you don’t believe me, look at my ID! And my passport, but it’s in the car. I can get it for you later!"
Kevin said, "No need. I believe the crew wouldn’t suddenly use a child actor for this project."
There was a burst of laughter around them.
Busy with her scenes, Jessica headed straight to the green screen studio without watching further.
After finishing two important scenes, she came out to see Amy sitting outside her trailer with a sullen face. Zoey was sternly talking to her, but Amy wouldn’t leave.
As soon as Jessica approached, Amy spotted her and quickly ran over, "Jessica!"
In the entertainment industry, there’s an unspoken rule that newcomers should address more experienced actors as teachers. But Amy didn’t call her teacher; instead, she confidently called her by name.
Zoey quickly followed, "I told you, Jessica was filming just now. She just finished and needs to rest. If it’s not important, don’t bother her."
"Are you and Kevin an on-screen couple?" Amy ignored Zoey and stared at Jessica.
Jessica roughly guessed Amy’s purpose for causing trouble and said, "We’re just actors making money from acting. We don’t lack topics, so there’s no need to hype up an on-screen couple. But it doesn’t stop some fans from shipping us because of a few collaborations. However, that’s not our intention."
Amy suspiciously sized up Jessica. She had just joined the crew and their scenes didn’t overlap much. She initially planned to stay out of each other’s way, but after being publicly rejected today, she thought it must have something to do with Jessica. After all, on-screen couple fans could still imagine things based on both parties’ popularity.
"If you don’t have that intention, then stay away from my idol!"
Zoey stood by, rolling her eyes non-stop.
Jessica was silent for a moment. What a big fan rivalry scene this was.
