Chapter 62 Is She His Sister-in-law?

Nicholas's expression changed from puzzled to disbelief. His face changed drastically as he stared at the man in front of him, who remained calm, and the woman smiling at him.

Jessica thought he changed his expression because he found out she was married, but she pretended not to notice and continued to smile.

Nicholas could hardly conceal his disbelief. He raised his eyebrows and seemed almost about to jump up.

Gabriel reached out his hand and said, in a cold and indifferent tone, as if they had never met before, "Nice to meet you."

Nicholas was speechless. He stared blankly at his brother and then at the hand reaching out to him.

Although Gabriel's gaze didn't reveal any frostiness, there was a faint warning in his eyes, which was clearly transmitted to Nicholas.

Did Gabriel want him to cooperate as well?

What did this mean? Wasn't his brother going to introduce them to each other?

Nicholas, who had no idea what was going on, coughed and quickly reached out his hand to shake. "Nice to meet you," he said.

Before Jessica could continue with the introduction, Gabriel coldly and unceremoniously shook off his hand, gazing at Jessica, who was sitting closely next to him, and asked lightly, "How did you two meet?"

He naturally assumed the posture of the male head of the household.

Nicholas forced himself not to look too shocked,

But it was terrifying.

His brother, Gabriel, this cold and heartless creature, had changed!

He was truly terrifying!

Jessica looked up at Nicholas, whose expression was still strange, and assumed he was embarrassed. She stated, "A while ago, when the new movie started filming, I was in a hurry to drive to the set in the morning. He was tailing me on the road, and he brought my repaired car back to me today. He even said he wanted to compensate me for the mental distress, but didn't have a pen at hand, so he came up to ask me for one."

As she spoke, Jessica took out a pen from the drawer under the coffee table and handed it over, saying, "Here's one."

"So that's how it is?" Gabriel seemed to be smiling, but his icy gaze flew towards Nicholas without making a sound.

Before Nicholas could react to his shock, he was startled by Gabriel's gentle and patient tone when talking to Jessica.

Furthermore, he felt a faint sense of guilt.

Now, in order to pursue Jessica, he had acted like a fool and rushed over to write her a check, only to coincidentally encounter Gabriel.

To make matters worse, he had crashed into his prospective sister-in-law's car while driving, almost causing her harm while pursuing her.

"How much are you writing the check for?" Gabriel asked calmly.

Jessica smirked and said, "320,000 dollars." As she spoke, she glanced at Nicholas sitting on the sofa opposite her.

In truth, she didn't quite believe he would actually write the check.

Nicholas was speechless. Although his brother was the head of the Harriman family and worth billions, this amount of money was just a drop in the bucket. He felt like diving his head into a glass of water and dying from the burn.

Gabriel's voice remained calm and cold as he said, "Then sign it quickly."

Jessica was momentarily stunned and suddenly turned her gaze towards the handsome profile of the man. Before sitting here, she hadn't expected him to be so cooperative.

What surprised her even more was that Nicholas didn't say anything unnecessary, he didn't even question it and quickly picked up the pen to sign the check. Then, he hurriedly stood up and said, "I have nothing else to do, so I'll leave first. We'll be in touch another day."

After finishing his words, he nodded at Jessica and this time, his eyes no longer carried the look of "I'm interested in you, Miss." Instead, they were respectful, as if Jessica could crush him at any moment. His gaze quickly shifted away and he walked out hastily.

Jessica didn't understand the situation of this quick resolution in front of her. Subconsciously, she stood up and wanted to see him off. After all, he had already written her a check. He may be a bit foolish, but the God of Wealth should still be treated well.

"Goodbye, whatever.," Gabriel said indifferently, directly stopping Jessica's footsteps.
