Chapter 552 Sweet Extra of Couple Variety Show 37
Around 4 AM the next morning, Jessica vaguely heard the sound of staff members moving outside the tent. She woke up suddenly and realized she was sleeping in Gabriel's arms.
It wasn't a big deal; both of them knew they had to join the other guests for the early morning market trip. Fortunately, they hadn't gone to bed too late the previous night, so even though it was early, it wasn't too unbearable.
Jessica groggily sat up and saw that Gabriel had already put on his jacket. They hadn't changed out of their clothes before sleeping; she was wearing a loose mint green short-sleeve T-shirt and jeans, while Gabriel had on a white T-shirt and ash-gray athletic pants. He put on his jacket and went outside to turn on the light, as it was still dark.
Jessica sat in the tent for a moment to fully wake up. She then noticed the big white teddy bear she had hugged to sleep last night lying pitifully next to the foam box.
She suddenly remembered the scene from last night.
If it weren't for the fact that Danielle had insisted she bring the teddy bear, and knowing it was Danielle's favorite, it probably would have been torn apart by Gabriel.
Although it wasn't dismembered, it was still lying miserably by the foam box, showing just how much Gabriel had disliked it.
Jessica stretched and chuckled, then got up to pick up Danielle's favorite teddy bear. She glanced at the foam box, which had been open all night. The ice inside had completely melted into water, making the box unusable if they continued to camp tonight.
"You're awake? Morning!"
"Morning."
"Good morning!"
Everyone had woken up very early. By the time they finished washing up, it was just past 5 AM, and the sky over Harmony City was only beginning to lighten.
Rushing to the early market left little time for morning skincare and makeup routines, so most of them wore hats and sunglasses. Since they were filming a show, masks were not an option. The group headed to the nearby market, which had already opened.
This place was a mix of tourist spots and residential areas. Even at this early hour, the market was bustling with people buying groceries. Word had spread that a TV crew and several celebrities were there, attracting both the elderly, who pointed and watched for fun, and the young, who pushed forward with their phones to get a closer look. The security team tried to keep the crowd at bay, but it was challenging in such a busy market. They stayed close to the guests and celebrities to block the more eager fans.
"Is that Jessica? I've seen her shows, 'Charles II' and 'Sweet Ferris Wheel' were great!"
"Why would celebrities come to a place like this to film? Shouldn't they be staying in fancy hotels? What are they doing at our early market?"
An older woman with white hair suddenly grabbed one of the cameramen. "Is this a charity show?"
The cameraman was speechless.
Most people here weren't star-struck; they saw celebrities as a novelty, almost like rare animals. Some reached out to touch them, others brought their children over to get close, or asked for help taking a photo.
The security team did their best to protect the group, and the show had to go on. Everyone acted as if they weren't affected by the crowd, continuing to pick and buy vegetables. At that moment, Cindy was haggling with a vendor over the price of some produce.
