Chapter 211 Obvious Jealousy!

Chapter 211 Obvious Jealousy!

Jessica turned her head and said to the person outside the door, "Sorry, I haven't checked my phone for a while and didn't notice your Whatsapp message."

Kevin finally felt relieved and said, "No worries. I was just concerned since you didn't reply. I bought some medicine and heating pads. Open the door and take them ."

Faced with this sudden concern, Jessica was about to respond when she suddenly felt a cold gaze from above.

She gathered her thoughts and replied, "I already have medicine here. The weather has been cold lately, and it's easy for everyone to catch a cold. Keep the medicine with youself, just in case. If I run out here, I'll come to you."

Kevin chuckled kindly from outside the door. "I noticed you've had a cold for several days and it hasn't gotten better, so I thought the medicine might not be effective. Also, the heating pads are pink, and I can't use them. Just take them. I know it's late, and I don't come in. Just open the door to take the things in, and I'll leave."

With his words said, it would be quite impolite not to open the door at this point.

Jessica was about to turn and open the door a crack when she suddenly felt a tight grip around her waist. Gabriel, whom she had been holding down, suddenly raised his hand and pressed her waist in a warning manner.

She immediately covered her waist with her hand and glared at him.

Gabriel looked at her without speaking. His eyes were calm, but his expression was cold.

Jessica paused. She had intended to just take the items , not wanting to be ungrateful. But Gabriel's warning look made her think more clearly.

Considering she had no interest in the person outside the door, and Kevin was quite considerate towards her., if she started accepting such proactive care, it might lead Kevin to misunderstand that she had feelings for him. Unnecessary ambiguity wouldn't benefit anyone.

"I just took a shower and haven't changed my clothes, so it's really inconvenient to open the door. When we go to the set the day after tomorrow, you can give the heating pads to Zoey. Thanks, and get some rest. Good night!" Her tone was quick, and her refusal was clear.

Since Jessica had said so, Kevin didn't insist. "Alright, I'll head back then."

The hallway outside was carpeted, so it was hard to tell if he had left. But based on Jessica's understanding of Kevin, he wasn't overly persistent, so he was probably gone.

She quickly tried to free herself from Gabriel's embrace to continue eating her spaghetti before they got cold.

Originally, she had pinned Gabriel against the wall, but now she found herself held tightly in his arms. Just as she was about to pull away, she felt the grip on her waist tighten.

She looked up and met Gabriel's calm, dark eyesight.

Despite being pinned against the wall by her earlier, he remained tall and stern, his gaze lowered due to their height difference, devoid of any fluctuation.

Perhaps from their long association, Jessica could tell that Gabriel was most dangerous when he appeared emotionless.

She glanced towards the table, hinting that her spaghetti were getting cold. "I'm still hungry. Wayne bought these specially, and they won't taste good if they get cold."

Gabriel clearly wasn't planning to let it go, but Jessica kept glancing at the table, looking eager to eat. At the same time, his phone buzzed in his pocket.

The grip on her waist loosened, and Jessica quickly rushed back to the table, eager to eat her special meal—spaghetti prepared by Gabriel himself.

Gabriel picked up his phone and saw it was a Whatsapp message.

Jessica was happily slurping her spaghetti when a familiar, sweet voice suddenly filled the air. "Uncle Spencer, Caroline gave me a bath and put on some nice-smelling lotion. I'm about to go to sleep now. Good night, Uncle Spencer! Love you!"

Jessica was in the midst of bringing food to her mouth when suddenly she froze, her face full of shock as she turned to look at Gabriel, who was holding his phone.

The voice had clearly come from his phone.

Jessica stared at Gabriel, who smoothly raised his phone and pressed the Whatsapp voice message button, replying gently, "Good night."

Jessica asked, "Whose Whatsapp is Danielle using to contact you?"

Jessica couldn't believe it. Danielle didn't even have the habit of saying goodnight to her every night, yet she was secretly saying goodnight to Gabriel every day!

The jealousy of an old mother ignited within Jessica,  making her suddenly lose her appetite. As she aggressively stabbed her chopsticks into the food box, she stared at the approaching man.

"Landon gave Danielle a kids' smartwatch with GPS and Whatsapp features. He also helped her set up a Whatsapp account linked to the watch," Gabriel explained, standing under the light, watching her aggressively poke at her food.

"How come I didn't know about this?"

"Landon gave it to her after you left Xyleria."

"No, I mean, Danielle has Whatsapp, and I didn't even know. She hasn't added me!"

Jessica's jealousy was obvious!

Very obvious!

Unbelievably obvious!

"Landon set me as the primary contact on Danielle's smartwatch. The system automatically added me as the default guardian. She probably doesn't know how to add you."

Gabriel's voice was as calm as ever, as if being automatically designated as Danielle's guardian by the smartwatch system was the most natural thing in the world, as if it was just the way it should be, without any hint of impropriety.

Jessica silently stuffed a big mouthful of spaghetti into her mouth and chewed forcefully.

Danielle, that little traitor!

Even if she didn't know how to add her, she hadn't mentioned in their phone calls that Landon had bought her a smartwatch, nor had she mentioned saying goodnight to Gabriel every day.

Danielle was clearly afraid that she wouldn't approve of her saying good night to Gabriel every day.

A little kid who was only over four years old was actually daring to keep secrets from her!

Since birth, Danielle had been adored by many for her cuteness and charm. Even abroad, she had been liked by so many people. Danielle was also quite arrogant and didn't easily warm up to just anyone. Whether it was a stranger or a little boy in kindergarten showing her kindness, she often turned her head away and ignored them.

What kind of magic did Gabriel have?

How could he make Danielle betray her cute and beautiful mother?

After a few more bites of spaghetti, she suddenly asked, "When Danielle sends you Whatsapp messages, does she ever talk about me?"

She had to salvage the last bit of dignity as a mother.

Gabriel didn't say anything but handed her his phone.

Jessica hesitated as she took the all-black phone, the screen still lit. Without requiring a password, she looked down and saw Danielle's avatar, a cartoon character. Besides the recent voice message, there were also various cute and adorable emojis sent by Danielle.
