Chapter 24 He Sparked with her?
Safe from spending the entire day out in the wind, Jessica found solace in the lounge within the venue, where she was provided with a cup of hot water and a clean blanket.
These places were generally bare-bones, and most celebrities didn't rest here, usually opting to return to their RVs instead.
Alone in the lounge, Jessica was pleased with the quiet. She sipped her hot water in small gulps while reading her script.
After about an hour, she picked up her cell phone to check the time and suddenly remembered something. She checked again.
It's strange that when she came in the car earlier, why hadn't the driver charged the fare? There was no automatic deduction showing on her end.
Could there be a mistake with the ride-hailing platform? Not only did they send an extraordinary luxury car, but they also forgot to charge.
It was curious about that.
"Who's playing the second female lead, Katrina? Come on out, time to ride!" someone suddenly shouted from outside.
Jessica promptly set down what she was holding and stood up to leave the lounge.

Nicholas was incredibly curious about whom his brother had asked the driver to pick up. Unable to reach Gabriel on the phone, he had no choice but to call the driver
Unaware of the situation, the driver honestly replied that it was a pretty young girl who seemed to be in a hurry to get to a film set.
Nicholas had stumbled upon that big news!
Wasn't it well-known that Gabriel always kept a distance from women and had little patience for them?
It was common knowledge just how aloof Gabriel was toward women. Not to mention the countless female stars who had no chance of meeting him. Even the well-born and elegant daughters from reputable families found it nearly impossible to get an audience with him. Those who did encounter him had an even harder time trying to exchange a word.
Yet his brother, who was almost ascetic had made a special morning call to request that a car pick someone up.
And it was a woman? An actress? Holy smokes!
Had Gabriel finally sparked with someone?
No wonder he was reluctant to return and didn't need any help. Could he be really enjoying the comforts of a woman's company somewhere?
At the same time, Gabriel seemed allergic to women, not even bothering to meet any of the eligible daughters from the families that were close to the Harriman family, no matter how much they tried to get his attention.
Michael was frantic, hoping against hope that Nicholas would carry on his wish. Nicholas, however, was a free spirit. He lived life in the fast lane, indulging in his passion for car racing and immersing himself in his medical studies in the lab—it seemed unlikely he'd take time out to produce a great-grandson.
The family could keep up with Gabriel. He had long resisted entering the family business under Michael's heavy hand and sharp threats, and he was even less inclined to be concerned with continuing the lineage.
But things had changed.
Gabriel had finally come to his senses!
His brother had fallen in love with a woman?
Gabriel picked up his cell phone and saw six or seven missed calls, all from Nicholas. Having his phone on silent made it inconvenient to take calls where he was, so he had yet to hear. Knowing Nicholas and considering the current direction of the Harriman family, he figured it was nothing urgent and decided not to bother.
That's when a text from Nicholas came through: [You got a girl?]
Before putting down his cell phone, Gabriel saw the message and responded expressionlessly: [?]
Nicholas texted: [Who did I send the car for this morning? I heard she's a lady. Is she pretty? How far have you two gotten?]
Gabriel replied with a continued lack of expression: [You're overthinking it.]
After sending the message, he turned off his cell phone screen and tossed the device into a drawer, ignoring the barrage of questions Nicholas would surely keep sending.
