Chapter 608 Sweet Extra of Couple Variety Show 93
The island was cool and damp at night. While the guests slept, the production crew took care of everyone by placing a dryer at the cave entrance to dry the clothes they would wear the next day.
Jessica usually slept well, but maybe because of the unfamiliar environment of the island, she woke up before dawn despite sleeping soundly in Gabriel's arms.
She gently slipped out of Gabriel's embrace, but he still half-opened his eyes, looking both sleepy and trying to stay awake, as if to ask what was wrong.
Jessica whispered, "I need to use the bathroom. Go back to sleep. I'll ask one of the female staff members to come with me."
Even though they were on an island, it was still a tourist area with proper restrooms for men and women.
Seeing that Jessica didn't have any other urgent matters and that it wouldn't be appropriate for him to accompany her to the women's restroom, Gabriel gave her a look that said, "Don't wander off and come back soon."
Jessica gave him an OK sign and quietly left the cave without waking anyone else.
After speaking with one of the female staff members on duty, the crew sent an intern named Isaac to accompany her to the restroom. They chatted briefly as they walked.
Jessica felt quite sympathetic towards the staff. While the show couldn't be made without the guests' cooperation and the "script," the real hard work was done by the crew behind the scenes, many of whom were fresh out of college. They were much easier to talk to than the seasoned directors and producers.
After passing the filming restricted area, they reached a public restroom in the tourist area. It was quiet and empty at this hour. Isaac checked the surroundings to ensure no one else was around and said, "Ms. Jenner, the restroom is over there. I'll wait here for you."
"Okay," Jessica replied and hurried over.
Despite being on an island, the restroom was clean and newly renovated, with the scent of air freshener in the air.
Jessica used the restroom and then washed her face and hands. She also washed her arms and legs a bit, as she hadn't showered the night before and felt uncomfortable. The quick wash made her feel a bit better.
As she was washing, a foul smell suddenly wafted up from the drain. Jessica had encountered this smell at other temporary wash stations before, but this time it hit her hard, making her stomach churn.
Isaac, waiting outside, grew concerned when Jessica didn't come out for a while. He quickly went in to check on her.
As soon as he entered the women's restroom, he heard Jessica retching. Alarmed, he rushed over to find her leaning over the sink, dry heaving but not actually vomiting. She was pale and clutching her stomach.
"Ms. Jenner, did you get heatstroke yesterday? Or is it something you ate? What's wrong?" Isaac asked, pulling out some tissues to help her.
Jessica took the tissues herself, waved her hand weakly, and said, "I'm fine. It's probably just motion sickness from the long bus ride yesterday combined with not sleeping well last night. It's all catching up to me."
"Are you sure you're okay?" Isaac asked, gently patting her back. "I'll let Marshall know just in case."
