Chapter 406 Your Kid's Dad Might Be Average-Looking

Even though Zoey was just an assistant, she couldn't just go around asking for favors willy-nilly. She shot Jessica a desperate look instead.

Jessica caught her eye.

Alright, fine.

She turned back, considering whether Sebastian had a car available, recalling that his assistant usually drove solo.

Just as she was about to head to the studio, the crew was packing up props, calling it a day. The place was a total mess, making it hard to move around.

Out of nowhere, Amy popped up and tapped Jessica on the back. "Jessica!"

Jessica steadied herself and turned around. Amy immediately latched onto her arm. "You're done, right? My team B just wrapped up too. Got any plans for dinner?"

Jessica smiled, treating her like an overly hyper kid. "Maybe another time. I gotta get home to my daughter tonight."

"Where's your ride?" Amy glanced towards Jessica's RV. The driver had just parked it to the side, leaving the original spot empty.

"The studio driver had an emergency and hasn't shown up yet." Jessica was about to look for someone else but then glanced at Amy, holding onto a bit of hope. "Hey, do you have a car? Could you give me a lift back to the city? Just drop me off somewhere I can grab a cab. It's just me and my assistant."

"Yeah, I do! But I only brought one car today, and I've got a bunch of staff with me, so it might be a squeeze." Amy looked around suddenly. "Hold on a sec."

"If it's too tight, forget it. I can ask someone el—"

Before Jessica could finish, Amy had already let go and dashed off to the right.

Jessica followed her gaze and saw Gabriel chatting with Sam.

She thought he had already left when she went to shoot her scenes.

After all, wasn't Gabriel usually super busy?

The two came out of the equipment room. Sam, who was usually all business on set, was now talking animatedly, using hand gestures, probably describing some scenes from the movie.

Gabriel, still in his sharp suit, listened to Sam with a calm and indifferent expression, looking nothing like the guy who had just been in the RV comforting her about her old knee pain.

Amy ran over, greeted the director, and then went straight to Gabriel, saying something to him.

Gabriel, seeing Amy approach, initially had a distant expression. But after hearing her words, he suddenly looked past her directly at Jessica.

Jessica suddenly had a bad feeling.

Until Jessica and Zoey got into Gabriel's sleek black Bentley, with Amy squeezing in as well, Wayne, who was in the driver's seat, glanced at Gabriel in the front passenger seat and then looked back at the three women.

One was Jessica, sitting on the left by the door. Another was Zoey in the middle. As for Amy, she had her own car, but since she had a lot of staff with her today, she let them take her car back. She had initially planned to have them give Jessica a ride, but now she was also squeezing into Gabriel's car.

The three of them packed into Mr. Harriman's car, which was a rare sight.

And they were all pretty ladies.

Wayne couldn't help but chuckle as he drove.

Amy had wanted to sit next to Jessica, but Zoey wasn't having it. The two had been at odds over Kevin, and now they were silently competing in the car, pressing each other's arms.

They pressed and squeezed against each other, neither willing to give in.

Jessica, sitting by the window, glanced at their childish behavior and turned to look outside, choosing to ignore them.

Amy thought they were able to get a ride purely because of her, while Zoey believed that Jessica could sit in Mr. Harriman's car anytime without needing this favor. Both were silently fuming, unwilling to back down, but kept their mouths shut, expressing their feelings through their actions.

After a while, Amy found it boring and suddenly glanced at Jessica. "Jessica, I'm not sure if I should tell you about this. Since it's just us here, let's be frank."

Jessica asked, "What do you want to talk about?"

Amy replied, "I know Kevin really likes you."

Wayne, who was driving, stiffened, gripping the steering wheel firmly, looking straight ahead, not daring to glance sideways.

Seeing Amy hesitate, Jessica said, "If you have something to say, just say it. No need to beat around the bush."

Amy finally made up her mind. "But Jessica, you're a married woman. Compared to Kevin, your husband might be just average-looking, not rich or powerful. Compared to the dazzling Kevin in the same movie crew, he's definitely lacking. I think when the movie promotion period comes, you should limit your interactions on Instagram. Don't be too frequent. Fans can't handle that kind of shock. And, you know, there's a saying that feelings develop over time. The more you interact, the more you get in touch, you know what I mean."

No wonder she was so enthusiastic.

She had been thinking about this the whole afternoon, organizing her words, and finally found a moment when Jessica couldn't avoid her to say what she wanted to say.

Amy's thoughts were really straightforward, with no dissemblance on her face or mouth, saying whatever came to mind.

Jessica smirked. "Are you afraid I'll mess around with Kevin and betray my husband?"

Amy coughed. "I didn't say it that directly."

Wayne drove in silence, feeling on edge.

Especially since Mr. Harriman was sitting in the front passenger seat today, right next to him.

Although he seemed calm as usual, Wayne felt a chill in his pores, as if an invisible cold blade was pressing against his throat.

Terrifying.

Amy then sighed. "But I really admire you. Having a child abroad on your own, then coming back and openly admitting you have a daughter, never trying to deny her existence. It's really brave!"

"But it's also because you have a partner that I feel comfortable letting you ride with Gabriel. Otherwise, if it were any other woman, they'd probably chase him." Amy said with a look of admiration.
