Chapter 663 Sweet Extra of Couple Variety Show 148
That afternoon, the hashtag #Lester Has Nothing To Do With Me# suddenly shot to the top of the trending list.
Everyone was shocked by how quickly it climbed the ranks. When they clicked on it, they saw that Lester had posted on Instagram after days of silence, simply writing four words: "Has nothing to do with me."
Shortly after, Lester's management company released a statement, announcing that Lester and Rachel had amicably split a few days ago. From now on, there would be no emotional or professional ties between them.
The news caused quite a stir.
People speculated that Rachel might be acting erratically due to the breakup with her boyfriend.
But Rachel had disabled comments on her Instagram, leaving everyone with nowhere to ask questions or vent their frustrations. So, they flocked to various marketing accounts on Instagram to discuss the matter.
Instagram was buzzing with activity, but this commotion had nothing to do with the other guests.
Everyone continued with their games and tasks as planned.
Later in the afternoon, as they prepared to leave Mantanani Island, the production team arranged for two cargo ships to transport everyone off the island.
Everyone changed into their clothes and put on life jackets. While waiting at the dock, Marshall received a phone call. Something seemed to have happened, as he walked away with a troubled expression to continue the call.
"Do you think there's a problem?" Amy glanced at the director's heavy silhouette and hesitantly looked at the others.
Everyone shrugged, clueless.
After all, the guests were following the director's arrangements, and everything was up to the production team.
A few minutes later, Marshall returned, looking at them with hesitation before saying, "I have some bad news. We might not be able to leave the island tonight."
"What happened?"
"Well, the first cargo ship successfully left with most of the crew and equipment. But the second ship, which was supposed to pick us up, encountered a mechanical issue. And since there's a storm warning for tonight, all ships are prohibited from sailing. The production team had booked these ships in advance, hoping to leave before the storm hit. But now, with the second ship's problem, it won't be safe to leave during the storm."
Marshall glanced at the sky over the sea, "The storm is likely approaching soon. For everyone's safety, we have to delay our departure."
Brent shrugged, "It's just a delay, right? I thought it was something serious. We can stay on the island for another night and have a good time. What do you think?"
"Sounds good," Clayton laughed.
No one seemed particularly anxious. They understood the weather and mechanical issues.
"But we can't go back to the villa tonight," Marshall added.
The guests' smiles faded instantly.
Marshall looked apologetic, "Due to coordination with Oceancrest City, we might leave right after the storm passes, which could be late at night. The villa is half an hour away, and since we planned to leave tonight, the villa has already been rented out to tourists. We can't stay there anymore."
Kevin asked slowly, "So, we're staying in a cave?"
Marshall nodded, awkwardly smiling at their stunned expressions, "But I'll stay with you in the cave tonight. We'll tough it out together."
