Chapter 379 Sleeping on the Same Hospital Bed

For the convenience of patients, there was also a bell for calling the nurse at the bottom edge of the pillow.

Gabriel's hand was resting there at the moment, 1.97 inches from her neck, without pressing it, looking down at her.

Gabriel, who had just woken up not long ago, had his usually neat short hair slightly tousled.

He didn't avoid her lying on the bed at all but leaned down openly, with one hand on the call button and the other supporting his body on the other side of her neck.

Jessica lay stiffly under him, wanting to get up, wanting to push him away. But he was injured. She couldn't bring herself to do it.

She glanced to the right and asked, "Are you going to press the call button?"

Gabriel replied, "Call the nurse to put some medicine on your hand."

Gabriel's voice was right above her, the close distance making it hard for Jessica to breathe. She turned her head, trying to see if she could slip out from under his arm, but doing so might still bump into his arm.

"No need for medicine. It's just a bit red on the surface. I'll rinse it with cold water, I'm not that delicate," Jessica said, glancing at Gabriel's hand, always avoiding his gaze.

But Gabriel was the kind of person who, once he made up his mind, wouldn't be swayed, no matter how many times she objected. The call button was pressed, and Gabriel stood up. When his hand left her neck, Jessica's eyes turned back, quickly glancing at his back as he went to open the door for the nurse. Seeing no bloodstains on his shoulder, she felt relieved.

Although Gabriel got out of bed, he avoided pulling the wound on the back of his neck with every movement, so it shouldn't be a big problem.

Jessica was really tired. From the incident at the Golden Orchid Hotel until now, she had been highly tense and hadn't slept. Earlier, Daniel had caused a scene like a madman. And now lying here, despite the strong smell of disinfectant and medicine, she could still catch a faint, comforting scent from the blanket, making her sleepy.

When the nurse came in and heard Gabriel's request, she walked to the bedside, lifted Jessica's wrist to take a look, and then went out to get the doctor to prescribe medicine.

While waiting for the nurse to bring the medicine, Jessica was already very sleepy.

Suddenly, she heard Gabriel ask, "What were you doing standing outside the door just now?"

Jessica looked up at the white ceiling of the ward and said honestly, "I didn't want to come in."

Gabriel seemed to chuckle. "Then why did you come in?"

Jessica closed her eyes, too tired to think about how to describe her feelings, and answered perfunctorily, "You opened the door, not me."

Ten minutes later, the nurse brought the medicine.

Jessica had already fallen asleep on the hospital bed, vaguely hearing the nurse's voice.

Nurse reminded, "This is a spray, and the other bottle is for applying. Use these two medicines every two hours, and she should be fine by tomorrow."

Then the nurse asked, "Sir, you are also injured. Do you need us to help you apply the medicine?"

Gabriel replied in his usual calm tone, "No, I can do it myself."

The nurse replied, "Okay."

She had witnessed him giving up the bed for Jessica. She wanted to remind him to take care of his own injury, as he was the one seriously hurt, but seeing Gabriel's expression that he didn't want to hear any nonsense, she didn't say more. She also wanted to ask if they needed another bed in the ward but didn't say it and simply left.

Jessica had fallen asleep, but in her sleep, she felt a cool sensation on her wrist, which was so comfortable that she didn't resist and continued to sleep quietly.

When she returned to the hospital, it was already dark outside. She rarely had such a comfortable sleep, sleeping deeply and long. She didn't even know her wrist was treated several times during the night, only feeling the cool and comfortable sensation each time.

Jessica was dreaming about attending a parent-teacher conference for Danielle. The teacher complained that Danielle had built a giant snowman in kindergarten, almost crushing the school building. Jessica argued with the teacher, saying it was impossible to have such heavy snow in Xyleria to build such a big snowman.

Arguing fiercely in the dream, she even started fighting, using the little fighting skills she learned from acting.

In the midst of the fight, she suddenly heard a sigh, and Gabriel's soft voice sounded in her ear, "Kicking the blanket while sleeping, is this a bad habit learned from Danielle?"

Gabriel covered her with the blanket again, and Jessica kicked it off again. He covered her again, and she continued to kick.

After several repetitions, Jessica felt like someone joined her in the fight in her dream, sticking close to her, warm.

In her dream, she said, "Hey, who are you? Stand over there. Don't stick to me. It's hot and affecting my performance."

The person ignored her and even held her down, tying her up.

Jessica was shocked, realizing this person wasn't here to help her!

She struggled in vain, turned, and bit the person's shoulder.

Gabriel looked down at the sleeping Jessica, who had started biting in her sleep. In reality, she only touched his shoulder with her teeth, leaving some saliva, then smacked her lips and continued sleeping.

Jessica didn't know what tied her hands and feet, making it impossible to fight the teacher. Frustrated, she stood there shouting for a while, then fled, turning to find Danielle, warning her to learn to solve problems herself next time and not let her be called out by the teacher during parent-teacher conferences.

Then, she asked Danielle where the snowman came from.

Danielle, smiling, pointed at the giant figure. "That's Uncle Gabriel!"

"That big thing is clearly made of snow, cold and not Gabriel..." Jessica hadn't finished her sentence when the snowman, almost crushing the kindergarten, moved, jumped high, and fell on her.

Jessica woke up in shock, opening her eyes in confusion, realizing it was a dream. But even awake, she felt weight on her body.

Suddenly realizing an arm was draped over her, she turned her head and saw Gabriel lying beside her, sharing the same bed and blanket.
