Chapter 324 Turns Out to Be a Deeply Scheming Person
The tension in the foyer finally eased up after Imogen left.
Michael told Sarah to give Jessica more food, like he was worried she hadn't had enough earlier.
Jessica was almost full, but she kept eating out of politeness, her mind drifting back to what Kimberly had brought up.
She once viewed Kimberly as a pampered princess, indulged by Gabriel's parents and never having to lift a finger.
But now, it seemed that wasn't true.
Kimberly clearly knew about her for a while, which meant even from Y Country, she had been keeping tabs on Gabriel.
Even if Gabriel's circle was tight-lipped, Kimberly could still pick up on things by watching his daily life and who he hung out with.
Kimberly had obviously done her homework, but Imogen had no clue her daughter was already in the know.
Kimberly seemed like an innocent princess protected by Imogen, but she was actually pretty cunning.
And then there was Kimberly's Instagram—if Trinity didn't have some way, how could she have stumbled upon Kimberly's account and seen that photo where Gabriel's face was half-hidden?
There shouldn't be any link between Trinity and Kimberly.
But Trinity sent her that photo, which led Jessica to Kimberly's Instagram.
If Kimberly was just siding with Imogen, that'd be one thing. Imogen was Gabriel's mom, and no matter how mad or biased she got, she wouldn't go too far, just stir up some family drama.
But if Trinity was involved...
After dinner, Jessica chatted with Michael for a bit. Then Michael had to go over a business plan with Gabriel, so Jessica headed back to her room.
Lying on her bed, she stared at her phone for a while, then logged into her secondary Instagram account and searched for Kimberly's profile. She saw that Kimberly had deleted the post with the photo. Besides a few posts about a business school in Y Country, there was nothing else.
She was unsure if Gabriel had requested its deletion or if there was another reason. Just as she was about to log out, she paused and decided to follow Kimberly's Instagram with her secondary account.
After following, she logged out and was about to check something else when she remembered seeing more than a dozen posts on that Instagram, but now only three or four were visible.
Jessica hesitated and clicked back. Sure enough, Kimberly hadn't deleted the photo but had made it visible only to followers.
Last time she checked, Jessica's account wasn't following her. Now that it was, she saw there were quite a few posts visible only to followers.
She had already seen the photo from Kimberly's birthday.
Scrolling down, there was a post from six months ago without a photo, just a piece of text—a love poem by a modern poet, expressing longing and yearning.
Further down, there was a photo from over a year ago of a beach, captioned: [The white sand was so clean. Was the natural stone arch on the coast the gate of dreams? Would it bring you back to me? The sun was warm, but you, whom I love, were warmer.]
Jessica zoomed in on the beach photo.
The photo captured a corner of the beach, including the famous natural stone arch. A tall, slender man was in the distant crowd. Even though it was just a back view, Jessica recognized him instantly—it was Gabriel.
Gabriel's parents were also visible in the photo, among the crowd. Everyone was in beachwear or swimsuits, except Gabriel, who was in a shirt and trousers, clearly not there for a vacation.
The city with the beach had a branch of the Harriman Group. The Harriman Group's tourism business abroad was huge. It made sense for him to be there on a business trip, knowing his parents were at the beach and going to see them, but Kimberly had captured a photo of him.
She kept scrolling and found many foreign love poems on Kimberly's Instagram, mostly about longing and secret love. The authors of these poems were confident people. Even if it was secret love, the poems' content suggested the other person would also like them, making the longing more torturous.
Jessica felt a slight discomfort in her stomach.
After reading a few more love poems, she scrolled down and saw a photo from three years ago.
There was no sign of Gabriel in the photo, just a white double-door window, with the blue sky of Y Country visible outside.
On the windowsill sat a discreet, high-end silver tie clip, unmistakably one of Gabriel's formal meeting accessories.
The caption read: [A year ago was the second time I saw you. I was daydreaming on the swing when you came back. You reminded me it was cold and not to stay outside too long, then walked past me. The wind at that moment seemed to carry your scent. I had prepared a second meeting gift for you, but you didn't take it. Did you forget? It's been a year. When will you come back to Y Country? I miss you.]
Jessica didn't continue scrolling. There were no more photos, just a few posts. The entire Instagram, documenting Kimberly's years-long secret love, had only two photos—one taken years ago at the beach and one taken a few months ago when Gabriel was talking to his parents at the dining table.
So, the question was.
Her other Instagram posts were always visible only to followers or possibly only to herself. The previous photo was the only one publicly posted and later made visible only to followers.
And that photo was conveniently found by Trinity.
Jessica checked Kimberly's following list. She only followed the official Harriman Group Instagram and her school's Instagram. Gabriel didn't have an Instagram; if he did, she would definitely follow it. But there was no trace of Trinity in the following list.
Until Jessica opened the followers list and saw that one of the few inactive followers had recently reposted Trinity's Instagram content from a few days ago.
She clicked on that account and looked through all its content, unexpectedly discovering that it was Trinity's secondary account.
