Chapter 697 Sweet Extra of Couple Variety Show 182
Clayton was the first to grab the speech card handed to them by the production team and took the mic. "Alright, first off, I think the killer is Brent."
Brent rolled his eyes and scoffed, "Got any proof?"
Clayton crossed his arms, looking serious. "Like I said earlier, the more someone talks, the guiltier they seem. Brent hasn't shut up since we started. I really think he's the killer, trying to throw us off by being all chatty."
Melissa rubbed her forehead. "Honestly, even without a case, don't you think Brent talks a lot anyway?"
Maurice laughed. "True, Brent and Amy are the ones who never stop yapping in the group."
Amy, suddenly mentioned, protested, "No way."
Kevin glanced at her, smiled lightly, but stayed quiet.
Amy shot him a glare, but Kevin just took her restless hand in his, giving it a comforting yet teasing squeeze.
Brent turned to Melissa, "Melissa, whose side are you on? Helping an outsider?"
Melissa spread her hands earnestly and said very seriously, "I'm just stating the facts."
Everyone burst into laughter, the atmosphere lightening up nicely.
Melissa had been a bit shy at first, but recently she had become more relaxed and her performance had improved significantly.
Clayton continued, "And seriously, who has such a strong craving for cigarettes that they'd go out at three or four in the morning to buy them? Last night, we had dinner, walked around, and didn't go to bed until late. We were all exhausted. Who would get up after just a few hours of sleep to buy cigarettes? And not just a pack, but a whole carton. It's too exaggerated, making it seem like he has a huge addiction."
Brent retorted, "Clayton, I do have a huge addiction."
Seeing everyone pondering Clayton's words, Brent raised his own card. "Fine, now it's my turn. I suspect Clayton."
Everyone else: "Why don't you two just go outside and fight it out?"
Clayton crossed his arms and smiled without saying anything.
Brent pointed his chin towards the kitchen. "Why do I suspect him? It's obvious. The first person to find the body is often a suspect. How convenient that the task fell to you, and you found the victim. And you claim you're not the killer and don't know about any other arrangements by the production team?"
Clayton shrugged. "Anything else?"
Everything that needed to be said had already been discussed. Clayton, although the first witness, had no other evidence against him.
Brent scratched his head in frustration. "Anyway, I still think it's him. Let's wait for the other guests to add their thoughts."
Maurice took the microphone and raised his card. "Actually, I also suspect Brent."
Brent was speechless.
He sighed, "Maurice, do I look like someone who wants to be the boss?"
"Alright, you've already got two votes against you. Who knows if everyone will vote for you in the end? You'd better stop talking." Clayton laughed.
Brent slumped back in his chair, looking defeated. "I guess the budget is going to be handed over."
At the mention of the budget, everyone hesitated for a moment. Maurice continued to analyze, "Based on the evidence we've seen so far, the main suspects are Hugo, Brent, and Mr. Harriman."
