The weather in Oceancrest City was just as scorching. Before heading to the venue, all the guests changed into their team uniforms for this episode.
The afternoon teams were divided the same way as they were during the bus ride. Jessica and Gabriel were paired with Cindy and Clayton.
The four of them wore matching white short-sleeve athletic T-shirts with blue stripes, washed blue jeans, and white sneakers, all provided by the show's sponsors.
Unlike other shows where sponsored clothing was worn casually with just a brand logo, this show was different. Each episode featured the best materials and designs from each brand, treating the guests like royalty.
However, among the group, only one person was truly treated like royalty.
Jessica adjusted the angle of her baseball cap to shield her eyes from the glaring sun and moved closer to the "king." She whispered, "I checked the tickets held by the tourists when we got off the bus. The tickets for the horse track aren't cheap, around $200 per person, and that doesn't include other attractions in the park."
Gabriel glanced at her, and Jessica looked back at him.
Neither said much, but they both understood what the other was thinking.
Jessica couldn't bear to leave the other guests in the lurch, unable to spend thousands of dollars without doing anything.
And Gabriel, despite his reputation as a cold-hearted businessman, couldn't be that ruthless on the show.
Especially since the other guests were standing at the park entrance, staring at the horse track, looking lost.
Marshall had already arranged some hidden tasks that involved interacting with tourists to earn various discount coupons.
But only two coupons offered a full $200 discount, while most were just a few dozen dollars. Without enough funds, completing the task would be difficult.
Initially, Gabriel and Jessica didn't show much interest, letting Marshall assign tasks to compete for the discount coupons. Everyone knew there was only one $200 coupon, and to complete today's task, they had to enter the horse track, so they all fought for it.
The task to grab the discount coupons involved all the guests spreading out. Each team went to the free drink area in the forest park to find ten tourists with the same last name to play a tongue-twister game. Whoever completed it first could go back to Marshall to grab the coupons.
Jessica and Gabriel were paired with Clayton and Cindy. Although they weren't in a hurry, Jessica worked hard to gather people for Clayton and Cindy. She encountered many fans who wanted to join the game, some even faking their last names, which Jessica caught and made them stand aside as punishment.
After finally gathering ten people, they played the tongue-twister game, taking over an hour to complete the task. Jessica handed the task card to Clayton and Cindy, then looked at the fans she had punished, who were standing with teary eyes but refused to leave.
Jessica smiled helplessly, walked over to chat with them, and asked the staff to take a group photo. Only then did the crowd disperse.
Seeing Jessica surrounded by fans, handling tasks and taking photos without offending anyone, Gabriel stood by holding her hat, watching her smile warmly among the crowd, and chuckled softly.
