Chapter 585 Sweet Extra - Couple Variety Show 70
Gabriel's expression made it clear he had a confidentiality agreement with the show's producers. He wasn't planning to share any details about the upcoming schedule and arrangements, not even with his wife.
Jessica glanced at Gabriel. "Come on, even if you have to keep things under wraps for the show, you could at least give me a heads-up on what I should prepare, right? I am your wife, after all."
"Just these things. Nothing else."
"Seriously, nothing else?"
Gabriel noticed Jessica's questioning look. His eyebrows twitched slightly as he pointed with his chin towards the shelves behind them. "You could grab some easy-to-carry noodles."
It seemed like water wouldn't be an issue on the island, but food might either be expensive or hard to come by. If they asked the production team for food, there would probably be stricter conditions. Since they were only staying for a day or two, bringing some noodles was a good idea—cheap and convenient.
Jessica nodded, giving Gabriel an "OK, I got it" gesture. She quickly turned and grabbed the curious Amy, who had wandered over, and headed towards the shelves. "Let's go, let's get some instant noodles and pasta."
"What? Why?" Amy asked, puzzled.
As they walked, Jessica mouthed to Cindy, who was passing by, "Get some food."
Cindy paused, then noticed Jessica and Amy heading to buy noodles. After a moment of thought, she felt that Jessica's expression had hinted at something important, so she quickly decided to follow them and buy some noodles as well.
Seeing the three women head to the shelves, the other families' guests instinctively followed.
Gabriel watched as the scene unfolded. Moments ago, Jessica had been quietly trying to get information from him. Now, she was surrounded by several female guests, all chatting and filling their carts with various cheap noodles.
Gabriel was speechless.
When Jessica returned and placed the items in their cart, she looked up to meet Gabriel's meaningful gaze. She quickly approached him, acting like a sweet and obedient wife, and whispered, "Helping others is a good deed. I couldn't just watch everyone go hungry. Besides, I wouldn't enjoy eating alone."
"And you knew I was lying, but you still told me. The decision was in your hands. Aren't you the one truly considering everyone's well-being?" Jessica said, giving Gabriel a slightly smug look.
Gabriel's eyebrows twitched at Jessica's unreasonable tone. As he pushed the cart, he placed his hand over hers, preventing her from pulling away. He leaned down, his voice low and deep in her ear. "You made friends quickly, so quickly that you could sell out your husband anytime. If we get the chance to stay in a private villa tonight, I can have Marshall and the crew remove the cameras temporarily. Do you think they'd dare leave the cameras in the bedroom?"
Jessica froze.
She suddenly felt a chill down her spine. Her earlier bravado faded significantly. She obediently kept her hand under Gabriel's, letting him hold it as a warning. She began to think that staying in a beach tent wouldn't be so bad.
At least, sleeping would just be sleeping, without expending any extra energy.
