Chapter 584 Sweet Extra of Couple Variety Show 69
[It's crazy. Yesterday, I saw a ton of Gabriel's fans flooding Instagram. There's even a Gabriel fan club now. Mr. Harriman's follower count is skyrocketing, making young celebs green with envy.]
After picking up the essentials, Jessica went to find Marshall and asked, "Can we take the tent Gabriel and I used these past two days with us? Since we used it, does it count as our personal property?"
Marshall gave her a slight smile. "Do you think you can take the rooms of the Airbnb where other people have stayed?"
Jessica's smile disappeared instantly, and she walked away with a blank expression, shooting the producer in charge of the show's budget a cold glare.
So stingy!
"What did you ask about?" Gabriel asked, noticing Jessica's expression as she returned. He glanced at the sweating producer and the smiling Marshall, then looked back at Jessica.
"I asked if we could take the tent we stayed in, but they said no," Jessica replied, sounding dejected. She then frowned and whispered, "I'm worried that if we end up with the worst accommodation again, I don't mind roughing it, but the shelter on the island can't even block the wind. It's impossible to sleep there. If we had the tent, at least it could block the wind. Otherwise, how can we have the energy to film the next day?"
Gabriel chuckled, ignoring the camera that was filming them. He put his arm around Jessica's shoulder and whispered in her ear, "Do you really think Marshall will let us draw the villa with a private yard? The second episode is a survival theme on the island. The supplies will be even worse than in Harmony City, definitely not better."
Jessica was shocked.
She turned to look at Gabriel, who seemed to know everything. "How do you know that?"
Gabriel looked down at Jessica, seemingly surprised that she hadn't done more research and observation before coming to film the show.
She hadn't even looked at the most basic details.
Even if Jessica was planning to leave the entertainment industry, she shouldn't be this clueless. The only reason could be that she knew Gabriel would be here, so she didn't bother to worry and treated it like a vacation.
Gabriel's refined eyebrows moved slightly, and he sighed, "Harriman Entertainment invested in this show right before filming started, and their investment accounts for fifty-five percent."
Jessica's expression shifted from confusion to calm, and then to astonishment within five seconds. She stared at Gabriel, who seemed to have everything figured out. "So you've been part of the funding team since the beginning?"
Jessica really didn't know this. Before filming, when Mackenzie showed her the show's files, she only skimmed through them. She didn't look closely at the investors, just knew everything seemed fine.
Especially Gabriel having Harriman Entertainment invest right before filming started, not only did she not know, but probably only the producer, director, and top executives of the show knew.
"With an investor like you, they still dare to be so stingy?" Jessica gave Gabriel a meaningful look.
"If they gave me special treatment, would the show still be worth watching?"
"So you knew all the arrangements and budget restrictions of the show from the start?"
"Pretty much."
So Gabriel would rather go to Milton City to do odd jobs and earn an extra ten or twenty bucks. It wasn't about the money; it was probably because in a future episode, that money might actually be crucial for survival.
