Chapter 327 Jessica Had a Baby
When Jessica found out Mackenzie wasn't switching careers and was actually bringing in ten million dollars to partner with her in setting up a studio, she was floored.
"Where does Mackenzie get all that money?" she wondered.
Lately, Jessica had been running around with the film crew. The shoot was still two weeks from wrapping up, and she was busy catching up on scenes, often getting home really late.
Tonight, she finally had no night scenes, so she decided to swing by the Harriman Group on her way home.
She had just called and found out Gabriel wasn't at the office today. He'd been busy all day inspecting and attending meetings at the new district branch and was almost back by now.
Jessica parked her car in the plaza in front of the Harriman Group, listening to a voice message from Danielle on her smartwatch. Just as she was about to reply, she noticed a figure passing in front of her car. Instinctively, she looked up and focused on the figure.
It was Trinity.
Jessica put down her phone and saw Trinity lingering around, occasionally glancing around as if waiting for someone.
Just then, a sleek black Maybach pulled up on the opposite side of the plaza. Jessica immediately identified it as Gabriel's go-to car for social events. She was about to get out of her car when she saw Trinity quickly heading towards the vehicle.
The luxury car stopped abruptly by the steps on the side of the plaza. Gabriel got out, the surrounding streetlights and neon lights reflecting off his broad shoulders and iron-gray trench coat, giving him a striking appearance.
The streetlights in this area changed from warm to cool tones every hour. At this moment, the cool-toned lights highlighted Gabriel's sharp and smooth neckline, his face cold and pale, exuding an aura that kept strangers at bay.
But inevitably, some people were not afraid to approach and cause trouble.
Like Trinity.
"Mr. Harriman!" Trinity suddenly walked briskly over.
Gabriel glanced coldly and calmly at Trinity. Wayne, who had already gotten out of the car, was momentarily surprised, while Landon stepped forward to block Trinity.
"Mr. Harriman! I have something to tell you!" Trinity was blocked by Landon and couldn't get closer. She tried to sidestep, but Landon, expressionless, continued to block her, giving her no chance to approach Gabriel.
Gabriel merely glanced at her indifferently before heading towards the main entrance of the company, not intending to pay any attention to her.
"Mr. Harriman," Trinity said, frustrated. "Move aside!"
Landon didn't say a word, continuing to block her path with a blank expression.
'Are Gabriel's bodyguards made of ice? And they can move too. So stubborn!' Trinity thought, annoyed.
Wayne, who had come over, recognized Trinity as the actress Jessica had rebutted in a live broadcast. He asked sarcastically, "Miss, do you have an appointment with Mr. Harriman?"
"I have something to tell him, no appointment needed!" Trinity didn't have time to argue with them. Seeing Gabriel walking away, she shouted, "I want to talk to you about Jessica! Do you know what kind of woman Jessica really is? Aren't you afraid she'll ruin your reputation?"
Gabriel acted like he didn't hear her, which made Trinity even more desperate. She suddenly dodged Landon and Wayne and ran towards Gabriel.
Landon and Wayne quickly blocked her again. Frustrated, Trinity shouted, "Jessica was pregnant! She even had a child, did you know that?"
Landon's face darkened. "Miss, do you know where you are? Shut your mouth and stop talking nonsense!"
Wayne, unaware of these details, hesitated for a second but continued to block Trinity.
"I'm not bullshitting! Jessica really has a child! Mr. Harriman, are you going to raise another man's child? Even if you can tolerate it, can the Harriman family accept a woman who has had a child with another man?"
She spoke urgently, "My people have been following Jessica for a while. She rarely interacts with the child outside, but we've noticed her nanny often near a kindergarten. Just a few days ago, my people finally photographed the nanny with a child! It's a little girl! She looks a lot like Jessica. Jessica had a child, Mr. Harriman, and you still like her."
Jessica had gotten out of her car in the nearby parking lot and heard Trinity's shouting from about a hundred feet away. The wind was strong at night, and while others might not hear clearly, Jessica could because Trinity kept mentioning her name.
After Caroline's leg injury healed, Jessica had indeed worried one day that Caroline couldn't carry too many things, so she had accompanied her to the supermarket, wearing a mask, hat, and sunglasses. Had they been followed then?
If Trinity's people were not following her but instead switched to following Caroline, wouldn't that be dangerous?
"Mr. Harriman! Gabriel!" Trinity saw Gabriel's calm and indifferent back, showing no intention of acknowledging her, let alone any shock or anger, and became even more anxious.
Gabriel had already entered the main entrance of Harriman Group's office building. Trinity, gritting her teeth, tried to follow, but Landon remained cold and unyielding, giving her no chance to pass. Wayne raised his arm to block her and said, "If you keep shouting, we'll call security. As a public figure, wouldn't it be embarrassing to be thrown out by the company's security?"
Trinity had already said what she needed to. With Gabriel's connections and sources, it would be hard to make these things public online in the country, but as long as Gabriel knew, it was enough. She was uncertain if Gabriel knew before, as Jessica's daughter seemed to live in Blue Bay Apartments. Trinity didn't know the details of Jessica and Gabriel's relationship but assumed Jessica wouldn't dare tell Gabriel about the child. No man would want to raise another man's child, especially someone like Gabriel. Maybe Jessica had hidden the child or had other ways.
"Just two dogs raised by Harriman Group, what's so arrogant?" Trinity stepped back, glancing at Wayne and Landon.
Wayne's eyebrows furrowed as he looked at her. Landon coldly glanced at her and spat out a single word, "Get out."
Trinity stepped back two more steps, out of their reach, and muttered, "Dogs relying on your master's power," before reluctantly turning away.
