Chapter 306 He Is at the End of Every Direction

Danielle had followed Gabriel all the way to H City, and if Jessica didn't sleep with her, the little one would be bummed out.

Plus, this was a hotel room. Sure, there was a suite next door, but it was for other stuff, and there was only one bed here.

Luckily, the bed was huge.

Jessica sat on the edge, blow-drying Danielle's hair, then lay down, holding her close.

Danielle snuggled into Jessica's arms, breathing in her scent, and closed her eyes, her little hands gripping Jessica's neck tightly.

Jessica, who had been filming all day and had to get up early to shoot again, was already exhausted, barely able to keep her eyes open.

Suddenly, the blanket behind her lifted. She turned her head groggily, still holding Danielle.

Gabriel lay down beside her, with Danielle in her arms and him behind her. He wrapped his arm around her from behind. It was clear he planned to sleep with them both tonight.

Jessica was beyond tired, and since there was only one bed, she instinctively nuzzled into his neck and whispered, "Sleeping with both of us, Is it too crowded?"

"Crowded? Not at all." Gabriel held her tight and glanced at the sleeping Danielle. "This is a buy-one-get-one-free deal. I'm very satisfied."

Jessica chuckled, eyes closed. "After the New Year, I'll talk to the company about ending my contract. I might need to borrow your company's lawyer for a few days."

"Alright, sleep now." Gabriel kissed her forehead. "I've got everything covered."

If she wanted to handle the contract termination herself, he wouldn't stop her. But that didn't mean he'd let her face any trouble alone.

He'd clear the path for her.

Every road lay ahead of her, and she could choose any direction, but at the end of each path, he'd be there.

"Mm, sleep." Jessica was already half-asleep.

The next morning, sunlight streamed through the windows. Jessica turned over, hugging the blanket, not wanting to get up.

An hour earlier, Gabriel had already driven Danielle back to Xyleria. She had woken up then, but he had pushed her back to bed. She was exhausted, her whole body sore. When she finally got up after hearing Zoey's call, she still felt like she had no bones, wishing she could stay in bed with Danielle all day.

She finally got up and went to the bathroom to freshen up. Just as she finished, she heard the doorbell.

Zoey had called earlier to say the RV would pick her up in half an hour for the filming site, but she hadn't mentioned anyone coming to the door now. At this time, Zoey should still be getting ready.

Who could it be so early?

The Harriman Group's hotel had top-notch security, so Jessica wasn't worried about any random person or fan knocking on her door. She threw on some clothes and opened the door, only to find Cherry standing there.

Jessica raised an eyebrow and exchanged a look with Cherry.

Cherry, in a new Chanel fall/winter leather jacket and matching luxury handbag, glanced at Jessica's simple off-white sweater before attempting to stride past her.

"Ms. Wallace, do you need something?" Jessica blocked the door, not letting her in.

Cherry gave her another look and said with a hidden meaning, "I'm here to check if you're hiding someone in your room.."

Jessica's eyebrow twitched.

Her first thought was that Cherry, who had just become her agent a few days ago, was already starting to spy on her.

She stood firm at the door, still not letting her in. "What do you mean?"

Cherry looked her up and down several times before saying, "Someone saw a man and a child leaving your room this morning. It was just a quick glance, but they did come out of this room. I'm here to confirm."

"I'm curious, who saw it?" Jessica's face remained calm, just smiling. "If they came out of my room, they must have passed through the hallway and the elevator. Why don't you ask the hotel to check the surveillance footage? Why bother me so early? I'm about to leave for the set. We need to hurry up and finish today's scenes so we can get back to Xyleria. Ms. Wallace, don't you know how to prioritize?"

Cherry's face darkened.

If she could get the surveillance footage, she wouldn't need to be here.

Jessica was always so mysterious, hard to read. As her agent, Cherry needed to know who she was with and what her background was, but Jessica never revealed these things, so Cherry had to investigate.

But no matter what, the hotel wouldn't hand over the surveillance footage. Even the staff wouldn't say if anyone had visited Jessica's room last night.

Even when Cherry asked an old classmate who worked at the hotel to help, the classmate said he hadn't seen anyone.

Her informant clearly saw someone leave the room, though not very clearly because it was so early and they only had a quick glance through the peephole.

It was obvious that the man had vanished from the hotel's records.

Who could he be? No matter how much money she offered or connections she used, she couldn't find out?

Cherry looked at Jessica again. "Come on, just a peek inside. We're both women, what's the big deal?"

"You can come in, but I'm packing my luggage because I need to take everything with me when I leave later. We're checking out today, so don't mind the mess." Jessica smiled and finally stepped aside.

Cherry quickly walked in, looking around the bed, the bathroom, and the suite, but found nothing.

Everything was clean and tidy. Even Jessica's bathrobe was neatly hung in the bathroom, showing no signs of anything unusual.

Except for a few clothes on the suitcase on the floor, which were obviously not yet packed.

Cherry came out and exchanged another glance with Jessica, who was casually leaning against the door.

Jessica smiled at her. "Seen enough? Satisfied?"
