Chapter 576 Sweet Extra of Couple Variety Show 61

After a long day of filming, the guests had grown much closer.

After dinner, everyone had showered and was relaxing. The guesthouse had all sorts of entertainment options, like chess. A few young folks were lounging in rocking chairs in the courtyard, chatting about TV shows and celebrities, but mostly just joking around.

Brent was playing chess with Maurice under the guesthouse lights. Clayton, feeling restless, looked around for someone to play checkers with but realized no one seemed interested. Checkers was a bit too lively for the female guests, and as for the male guests...

Clayton glanced at Gabriel, who had just come out of his tent. Gabriel had been inside reviewing some company documents on his iPad and now, wearing his glasses, looked particularly serene and refined in the evening light.

Clayton smiled and nodded at Gabriel, then turned to the chessboard and said, "Anyone up for a game of Connect Five? Everyone knows how to play that, right?"

Cindy gave him a playful, disdainful look. "You must be really bored."

Brent and Maurice chuckled as they continued their chess game, clearly seeing that Clayton was indeed very bored.

Lester and Rachel had already gone to their rooms to rest. Kevin came out with a tray of freshly cut fruit to share with everyone. He glanced at Clayton's chessboard but showed no interest.

Amy, who had a film shoot next month, was holding her script while chatting with everyone. She was so tired from reading that she lay back in her rocking chair, covering her face with the script and nearly falling asleep.

Kevin noticed Amy and the weather. Although it was dark, there was no wind, and it wasn't too hot. He decided she wouldn't catch a cold and quietly went back inside to fetch a light summer blanket, which he gently draped over her.

Jessica saw Kevin's gesture and pretended not to notice, but a small part of her was curious.

When did this start?

These two clearly had feelings for each other.

Gabriel also noticed Kevin covering Amy with the blanket. Though Kevin's actions were quick and unintentional, Gabriel's gaze lingered on Kevin's back for a few seconds before he walked over to Clayton.

Seeing no one else interested in playing, Clayton sighed and started to pack up the chessboard. Just as he was about to put it away, a hand gently stopped him. He looked up to see Gabriel.

"Mr. Harriman?" Clayton's eyes lit up.

"I'll play," Gabriel said, standing tall in the moonlight. The two men exchanged a glance, understanding each other without words.

Clayton grinned. "Mr. Harriman, are you going to play Connect Five with me?"

Gabriel sat down calmly, picking up a piece. "Play whatever you want."

"Then I won't hold back." Clayton, not really interested in Connect Five, began to showcase his well-practiced chess skills.

Half an hour later.

Clayton scratched his chin, looking troubled by the complex arrangement of black-and-white pieces. He held a piece in his hand for a full five minutes, unable to make a move.
