Chapter 320 So Ruthless It Makes People Angry

Jessica changed her Facebook password to keep Cherry from bribing someone at the studio to hack her account and post something inappropriate.

After the contract termination announcement, the reposts and comments blew up, quickly surpassing ten thousand and making it a trending topic.

Just a few days ago, Cherry had bragged about becoming Jessica's manager. Jessica had stayed quiet, but today she publicly denied Cherry's role with a formal contract termination statement. It was polite and legal, but it clearly embarrassed Cherry.

After a quick look at the comments, Jessica logged off and stopped checking.

She then sent a WhatsApp message and a Facebook screenshot to the lawyer from Harriman Group, discussing the situation and possible follow-ups. She also called Zoey, asking her to keep an eye on the company's and studio's activities over the next few days but not to make any online statements. After giving all the instructions, Jessica put her phone on silent mode and set it aside.

After lounging around the Harriman family estate all day, Jessica finally got up from bed in the evening when she heard that Imogen and Kimberly had returned from shopping. She looked lazily and resentfully at Gabriel, "It's all your fault. I slept so much that I feel groggy."

Gabriel had already changed his clothes, now wearing a dark shirt and trousers, looking as handsome as ever. He walked over and pinched her chin. "Does your head still hurt?"

Jessica was momentarily stunned, realizing that Gabriel had let her sleep so long to help her recover from last night's hangover.

After a day of sleeping, the pounding hangover headache had greatly eased, leaving her feeling much improved.

Wisely, she didn't complain further and got up to freshen herself up.

While not Jessica's first visit to the Harriman family estate, the sprawling old mansion spanned thousands of square feet.Besides the various villas and lofts of different heights, the estate was mostly covered in greenery. Due to the severewinter, the flowers in the backyard weren't as vibrant, but they still looked lively, showcasing various rare plants.

The paths between the greenery were of varying widths, meticulously maintained by gardeners, giving the place a serene and understated luxury.

Walking on the stone path, Jessica could smell the fresh air of the garden even in winter. She asked, "Did Cynthia contact you last night? What happened to her?"

Gabriel, tall and handsome, walked beside her. He noticed her stepping on each stone slab, almost compulsively trying to step in the center of each one, turning her walk into a playful hop.

He glanced at this rare lively scene in the Harriman family estate and said, "Jimmy came to the country."

Jessica paused mid-step and turned to him.

Seeing her surprised expression, Gabriel raised an eyebrow. "Do you know him?"

Jessica hadn't expected the cold, unapproachable Jimmy returned, but she didn't have a good impression of him. Cynthia had suffered too much neglect and hurt from him, and Jimmy's coldness was infuriating.

She didn't hide her disdain. "I know of him because of Cynthia. I've met him a few times, but we're not close. Why is he here?"

"A major criminal from Lindwood City fled to the country. Jimmy's tracking him. I haven't looked into the details since we're in different professions." Gabriel noticed Jessica's angry expression when mentioning Jimmy. "If you don't like him, let's not talk about him. No need to ruin your mood."

"I'm not affected; I'm just upset for Cynthia." Jessica continued walking but stopped focusing on the stone slabs. She said, "Cynthia has started a new life in Xyleria. I hope he behaves himself. Since he told Cynthia to get lost, he should stay away now."

As they spoke, two figures approached, becoming clearly visible. Jessica quickly hid her anger and looked at Imogen and Kimberly beside her. She turned to Gabriel.

"Kimberly?" She winked at him.

Gabriel glanced at her because of her words.

He then took her cold hand and put it in his coat pocket.

The path ahead had a fork but also led to the main hall, making an encounter inevitable.

Seeing Gabriel and Jessica finally come out, Imogen walked over. Noticing Gabriel holding Jessica's hand in his pocket, she realized they were more than just a new couple; they seemed very close.

Kimberly followed Imogen, but when she saw Jessica, she remembered Michael hinting to everyone about Gabriel's girlfriend, who Michael liked very much. Seeing them now, she was surprised that the usually aloof Gabriel could be so warm.

"Gabriel," Kimberly greeted with a slight smile, "Mom and I just bought you a tie at the mall. I also brought you gifts from Y Country. If you have time, I'll get them for you later."

"No rush. We're family; no need for gifts. Keep them for yourself." Gabriel's tone was indifferent.

Kimberly then noticed Gabriel's cufflinks and exclaimed, "I've never seen those cufflinks before. They look great. Which brand or designer are they from? I brought you two pairs of cufflinks from Y Country."

What a coincidence!

Jessica's eyes fell on Gabriel's cufflinks. When had he started wearing them so regularly?

Gabriel looked at Jessica and said calmly, "Jessica gave them to me."

Kimberly's smile faded slightly. "Oh, I didn't get a chance to ask. Is this beautiful lady your girlfriend?"

The winter wind blew, and Jessica's hair brushed her face. She looked at Kimberly and smiled, meeting her gaze. "Hi, I'm Jessica."
