Chapter 618 Sweet Extra of Couple Variety Show 103

Just as she expected, the kitchen was a goldmine.

The cabinets were packed with fresh veggies and fruits, probably stocked by the show's crew. They were protected from the elements and easy to store, letting the guests use their budget to trade for these items.

If she had known earlier, she would have moved in here to help everyone out. Now it was too late to regret.

Opening the fridge, Jessica saw an array of frozen steaks and ribs, making her stomach growl despite having just eaten breakfast.

She thought about grabbing a bunch but realized the crew had put the items there for a reason. If she took too much, not only would the items be confiscated, but they might also be hidden in harder-to-find places in the future, making it not worth the risk.

In the end, Jessica took a small bag of steak, slipped it into her task pouch, and turned to the cameraman following her. "Keep this a secret, don't tell the director."

The cameraman nodded, and Jessica smiled at him before grabbing two potatoes and putting them in her bag. She then stopped her scavenging and headed upstairs to look for more items.

When she came back down, she saw Gabriel entering, holding some fishing tools he had found under a tree in the backyard.

"We've got enough time before the director's deadline. Take a shower first," Gabriel said, knowing Jessica couldn't sleep without one. He glanced at his watch. "We'll head out in ten minutes."

Jessica had indeed considered taking a shower when she passed by the bedroom earlier, but she was worried about the time. Hearing Gabriel's suggestion, she immediately dashed upstairs and into the bathroom.

About ten minutes later, Jessica came back down, feeling refreshed with her hair dried, holding the fishing tools and following Gabriel.

Gabriel carried the bag with the ribs and vegetables she had packed earlier. The fishing tools, just a foldable rod and a small net, were light, so she carried them.

When they returned to the beach, they saw the other guests had already found their tools. Some were casting nets, others fishing, and Clayton, who had grown up by the sea, had rolled up his pants and was digging in the shallow water with his hands.

Cindy, worried about Clayton's excitement, called out, "Be careful! It's not safe if a big wave comes. Come back up."

Clayton laughed and dug a bit more before his eyes lit up. He shook his hand in the water and held up a sizable clam. "Look, we've got extra for lunch today!"

"Besides fishing, you can find these too?" Melissa asked, surprised.

Seeing Melissa's interest, Brent quickly took off his shirt and joined Clayton, learning to dig. Clayton explained that anyone who grew up by the sea knew how to forage and that they could find more if they had salt.

Soon, the fishing activity turned into a scene of men shirtless, digging in the sand.

Jessica glanced at Maurice, who was calmly fishing on the rocks, then at the other men in the water, and finally at Gabriel, who was just as calm, fishing beside her.
