Chapter 596 Sweet Extra of Couple Variety Show 81
The car was quiet for a moment before Clayton lazily chimed in, "Raccoon?"
Cindy chuckled, thinking they were being childish, but she played along. After all, they were live-streaming, and if everyone fell asleep, it wouldn't make for good entertainment.
Most of the audience for today's show were young, so a bit of silliness was fine.
Cindy said, "Nectar."
Lester followed up loudly, "Rose!"
Then he turned to look at Rachel beside him.
Rachel stayed silent, clearly thinking it was too childish, leaning back in her seat without a word.
Melissa said, "Eagle."
Brent added, "Elephant!"
Up front, Maurice and Debra had already fallen asleep but couldn't help but open their eyes and look back at the young ones, amused.
Maurice joined in, "Tiger."
Debra followed, "Rabbit!"
After a few more rounds, they had gone through the cycle about ten times. Jessica, who hadn't been sleeping either, joined in with a couple of words. She started with a number Danielle had recently learned, "One."
Suddenly, the car turned into a game of Last Letter with numbers. Melissa couldn't help but laugh and turned to say, "Is our romance show turning into a kids' program?"
Cindy laughed, "Seems like it."
"It's clearly too boring; Mr. Harriman hasn't even joined in," Lester chuckled.
Gabriel, wearing an eye mask, didn't respond to the noise in the car. Whether he was asleep or not, he must have heard them.
Jessica gently poked him, trying to see if he was awake.
Gabriel grabbed her hand, holding it in his palm without letting go, ignoring the others calling him.
"It's not just Mr. Harriman; Rachel hasn't joined either," Melissa turned to Lester. "Looks like we have a pair of aloof lovebirds in the car."
Something about that struck a chord with Rachel, who suddenly turned to Melissa with a smile, "No, we're not aloof."
Despite her words, Rachel glanced at the seat in front of her. Though she couldn't see Gabriel, her eyes showed a hint of happiness.
Brent suddenly tapped Melissa's arm, pointing out the scenery outside to distract her from teasing. Cindy in the back said, "Where did we leave off? Let's continue."
Clayton laughed.
"Or, we could switch it up and do a Rhyming Game. The next word has to start with the last letter of the previous word."
"Sure, that works. It's just to pass the time anyway."
"I'll start!" Lester raised his hand, "Cat!"
He glanced at Rachel beside him.
Rachel maintained her "aloof" persona, staying silent.
Debra followed, "Top."
"p?" Everyone in the car paused, "Is there a word that rhymes with 'p'?"
Gabriel, who had been silent, suddenly said, "Pig."
The car erupted in excitement, "Mr. Harriman is playing too!"
