Chapter 677 Sweet Extra of Couple Variety Show 162
After Jessica freshened up in her room, she joined the group chat to make plans for a casual dinner nearby.
It was a rare day off with no camera crew following them around, so everyone could just relax and eat like friends.
Cindy suggested in the chat: [Anyone got a craving? I saw this crab burger joint across from the hotel that looks pretty good.]
Melissa replied: [We've been eating seafood for days on Mantanani Island. I think I'm developing a psychological allergy to crabs and shrimp.]
Cindy responded: [Good point. I just saw it was close by and forgot what we've been eating the past few days.]
Jessica chimed in: [I'm good with anything.]
Amy added: [Same here, I'm easy.]
Just then, Marshall added Elise and Hugo to the group chat.
Elise entered with a greeting sticker: [Hi everyone!]
Hugo sent a grinning emoji.
Cindy said: [Since we're all here and haven't decided on food yet, why don't we ask Elise and Hugo what they feel like eating?]
[Agreed,] Clayton added.
Amy said: [I second that.]
Jessica was about to agree when her phone pinged with a notification. She exited the group chat to see that Elise had sent her a friend request.
So much for being shy, Jessica thought with a smile. Elise had added her right after joining the group.
Jessica accepted the request without hesitation and sent a friendly greeting.
She didn't pay much attention to the ongoing group chat. After changing Elise's name in her contacts, she noticed Elise was typing a message... and then not... and then typing again.
Jessica watched for a bit, then looked up to see Gabriel coming out of the bathroom, freshly showered.
Gabriel, wrapped in a towel, looked the same as he did at home, but something was different.
His hair had grown a bit longer over the past few days, and now it hung slightly damp, some strands sticking to his forehead. He looked softer, almost vulnerable.
Jessica put down her phone and, as Gabriel reached for his clothes, she suddenly leaped onto his back.
Gabriel, still damp from the shower, didn't stumble. Instead, he quickly steadied her with one hand, turning his head to look at Jessica as she playfully bit his ear. His eyes darkened slightly, and he warned in a husky voice, "Don't mess around, you might fall."
"I won't fall, you're here," Jessica said, clinging to his back and enjoying the scent of his body wash. She leaned in to bite him again.
Gabriel didn't give her the chance. He deftly pulled her away with one arm and, in a swift motion, turned around and pinned her to the bed.
Just as he was about to fully pin her down, he stopped, his arms on either side of her shoulders, careful not to press on her still-flat stomach. He leaned in and kissed the corner of her mouth, his voice low and rough, eyes locking onto her smiling ones, "Just because you have a little protector in your belly, you think you can do whatever you want?"
