Chapter 113 Did He Actually See It

Jessica narrowed her eyes, asking a question that seemed to echo from her soul.

"Mr. Harriman, CEOs usually travel the world in private jets, either going to private vineyards or dining on top-tier limited editions flown in from wherever. Why did you come to my rundown neighborhood just to have a bowl of pasta?"
Jessica thought Gabriel could give her a very simple and unpretentiousanswer—tired or Xyleria was their Harriman family's backyard, with private vineyards and platinum palaces all over Xyleria. He didn't need to fly so far to enjoy it.
See, how simple and unpretentious!
However, Gabriel responded calmly, "Which CEO has so much free time? Please tell me the name. I'd like to learn how to manage time so perfectly."
Jessica was speechless, realizing she hadn't expressed herself clearly.
Gabriel continued, "I flew back from City L this afternoon, only returning to the Harriman family in the evening. Meanwhile, I discussed a new investment project with a partner. Even with dedicated transportation throughout, catching up on sleep on the return flight, there's no time for a break, shuttling back and forth between cities domestically and internationally, each exhausting in its own way."
'City L?' Jessica thought.
She had no idea he hadn't been in the country the past few days.
But Gabriel hadn't contacted her recently. She had been extremely busy herself, and time passed quickly, and she didn't even notice the disconnectionbetween them for several days.
She thought he was just a short distance from her home to the company, not realizing he had just returned from Country Y.
Gabriel glanced at the tableware. "Under this work intensity, instead of searching the world for limited editions in private vineyards and platinum palaces, I choose to have a bowl of pasta, sleep, and rest. I choose the latter."
Upon hearing this, Jessica didn't say much, turned, and went back to the kitchen. It was too late to prepare more food now, so she cut some delicious fruits, arranged some simple desserts on a plate, brought them out, and placed them on the table.
Gabriel observed her actions, his usually cold eyes softening, even showing a hint of playful smile. "Treating me like Danielle? Trying to please me with various foods?"
Jessica took a mango pastry from the plate, opened it, and, while eating, muttered, "Why would I try to please you? You just haven't had dinner, right? I made only a simple bowl of pasta, not sure if a tired man like you can eat enough. Besides having a simple dinner here, what else can you get from me?"
Gabriel gazed deeply at her, silent, showing no further expressions. But just as she finished speaking, he continued to watch her.
Jessica swallowed the mango pastry, met his intense gaze, and suddenly felt choked. Coughing, she tapped her chest and rushed to the coffee table. She poured a glass of water, gulped it down, and then exhaled deeply with satisfaction.
She stood in place, holding the glass in one hand, hesitated for a moment with the other, and decided not to pour more water for herself.
Suddenly, she headed towards the main bedroom, saying as she walked, "Since you're here, the car is downstairs. Take all your things with you."
She dragged the box out of the main bedroom, and as she approached him, she said, "You don't like others handling your things, right? I haven't touched anything, you deal with it yourself."
Gabriel glanced at the things in the box. Although it had been a while since he left, everything seemed neatly packed by her early on, with a layer of cover on top, and the items inside were clean without a speck of dust.
After these days, seeing the clothes and items in the box again, Gabriel fell silent for a while, casually picking up the razor placed on top. "I'll take this. You can dispose of the rest."
Jessica looked at the item in his hand, "This razor is just something I randomly bought at the supermarket. Your own razor should be much better than this. Why only take this one?"
Gabriel said meaningfully, "Because this is the only razor in the world that has been covered in foam and blown bubbles by you, it was very much worth commemorating."
The last words were spoken slowly, and Jessica's face instantly changed.
Did he actually see it?
Back when she bought this thing, she was genuinely curious about how it worked. It seemed like this kind of razor needed shaving foam, and when she bought it, there seemed to be matching shaving foam.
While Gabriel was resting, she stood in the bathroom of the main bedroom, holding his razor in front of the mirror. She did not know if the foam should be directly applied to the face, so she applied it directly to the razor.
As a result, no bubbles appeared, so she carefully used her hands for a while, afraid of cutting herself. Later, she even tried blowing on it, resulting in some strange bubbles.
She even pretended to shave around her chin in front of the mirror, admiring herself curiously for a long time. When she heard Gabriel approaching the bathroom, she quickly put the things down, walked out as if nothing had happened, and returned the bathroom space to him.
She didn't expect him to have seen it back then!
Doesn't that mean he also saw her pretending to shave with this thing later on?
She is a future female star who didn't know if she could make it big in the entertainment industry!
She was also a mother of a four-year-old!
What was she thinking at the time, being curious about a man's razor? And even playing with it secretly.
She was influenced by a spell cast by someone else, leading to unusual behavior.
Jessica fell into a long silence, then suddenly walked past without saying a word, dragging the box in front of him again, dragging it towards the door. Thinking she could do it unnoticed, she kicked the box in frustration.
Gabriel caught sight of her action and casually placed the razor on the nearby dining table.
Jessica, filled with frustration for a few moments, then turned around and noticed the items on the dining table. As she approached, seemingly reaching for the fruit platter, she seized the opportunity to dispose of the razor associated with memories she was unwilling to revisit.
With a seemingly casual touch, as her hand grazed towards it, Gabriel openly thwarted her actions, promptly taking the object and placing it on the other side.
Caught off guard, Jessica, maintaining a smile, inquired, "Mr. Harriman, you've had your share, and you've taken things. When do you plan to leave?"
As she spoke, she made another attempt to pick up another plate from the table, seemingly poised to knock the nearby razor to the ground.
Her hand just about reached for it when Gabriel calmly restrained her wrist. Jessica glared at him while silently challenging him, resolute in her determination to eradicate the item.
Gabriel gazed back with a knowing smile, his grip gentle yet firm, rendering her unable to budge.
