Chapter 146 The Composed and Restrained Man Tensed All Over

Gabriel turned around to Jessica's resentful gaze, locking eyes with her.
Without Gabriel's reminder to re-fasten the loosening belt of her robe, Jessica, with messy hair, suddenly pounced forward with a demeanor suggesting an imminent bite.
In the split second, when Gabriel reached the bedside, she pounced on him directly and then forcefully pushed Gabriel down.
In that instant of her pounce, Gabriel, fearing she might fall off the bed, not only didn’t resist but also directly embraced her, only to be pressed down by Jessica's sudden burst of brute force from an unknown source.
In the blink of an eye, it inexplicably turned into Jessica pinning Gabriel down, assuming a queen-like posture, sitting on him, refusing to let go.
Gabriel looked down at her.
The belt of Jessica's bathrobe had loosened considerably, but she was completely unaware, pressing him down while her hand exerted force on his chest, glaring down at him from a superior position.
"Don't move!"
Jessica commanded arrogantly.
"What... do you want?"
Gabriel lay still, calmly gazing at Jessica, who exuded charm but seemed unaware of it.
His Adam's apple moved slightly with each swallow, his voice calm yet carrying a certain warning tinged with a hint of hoarseness.
Jessica suddenly narrowed her eyes, grabbing the collar of the shirt Gabriel had just changed into, staring at him for a long time before suddenly looking aggrieved. "I said I'm hot, so hot! And you keep blowing! Spencer, do you really think I won't push you off the cliff?"
Well, drunken memories were confused, and she only remembered him as Spencer again.
Gabriel glanced at her sitting on him, noticing the loosened belt of her bathrobe. He closed his eyes, sighed helplessly, and raised his hand to help her fasten it.
However, Jessica continued to tug at his collar with force, not giving him a chance to move recklessly. Thinking her weight could keep him down, she continued arrogantly, "I said don't move! If you move again, I'll..."
"What will you do?"
"Punish you by not allowing you to eat chocolate for a month!"
A vein throbbed on Gabriel's forehead, whether due to her slightly forward sitting posture or the chocolate threat.
"Jessica, I'm not Danielle."
He spoke in a deep voice, reminding her that the one sharing the room with Jessica at the moment was him.
If she didn't restrain herself, he doubted whether his pride in self-control could still hold firm in the face of her.
"Yes, you're not."
Jessica abruptly dropped her gaze to him, her eyes locked onto his face. She leaned in, nearly grazing his chin, pausing as if scrutinizing a treasure. She lifted both hands to cup his face, softly saying, "You're Spencer... no, you're not Spencer."
Jessica's posture as she leaned down.
The open neckline of her bathrobe.
Almost completely losing its original concealment.
She rubbed the contours of Gabriel's face vigorously, muttering, "Spencer, Spencer, Spencer... Why aren't you Spencer? Now, I dare not scold you."
"Why aren't you Spencer... Do you know, the bedroom in our house is now empty..."
Jessica looked at his face with a sad expression, her voice soft and murmuring, "Why aren't you Spencer... Change back, and I'll cook pasta for you. I'll add more eggs... Yes, one, two... No, add four! Add five or six!"
Jessica spoke while sticking close to him.
She probably didn't realize what she was doing; everything was driven by instinct.
Engaging either in rubbing Gabriel's face or tugging at his collar, she alternated between a queen-like demeanor and a childish, coquettish one, then constantly questioning Gabriel in a pitiful manner.
After being toyed with by her for a while, Gabriel raised his hand to push her away, but she fiercely warned him not to move.
He shouldn't have let her keep drinking one glass after another.
Unfortunately, most of the drinks on the table tonight were from Michael's well-aged collection, enough to intoxicate an average drinker with just one glass, let alone Jessica, who had already had at least five or six glasses.
As Jessica's bathrobe became more and more loose, she finally felt a chill creeping in. Subconsciously, she pressed closer to him, resembling an octopus as she clung to him motionless.
Unaware of her constant fidgeting, Jessica instantly caused the composed and restrained Gabriel to tense all over.
Both had been drinking, with Gabriel not consuming much. Even so, the alcohol fumes and their slightly elevated body temperatures made them both somewhat intoxicated.
Jessica nestled her face into the crook of his neck as if finding a comfortable bed, rubbed against it, and let out a satisfied sigh.
Gabriel lowered his head, looking at Jessica so close to him.
Jessica's hair, which had finally dried, was now disheveled and scattered on her body, some of it even on him. Her flushed cheeks and glistening shoulders under the light were all a torment and a test of endurance.
"Jessica."
"...What?"
She lay still, lazily responding, but it was evident she was almost falling asleep on top of him.
"Do you know where you are?"
"...I don't know."
"This is the Harriman family."
"Okay..." With her eyes closed, her face against his chest, her voice lazily carried a hint of post-alcohol coquetry. "The Harriman family."
She repeated the words, but it was clear she had no recollection of what the Harriman family was.
"Do you know what you're doing right now?"
"I'm sleeping."
Jessica didn't understand the question. She suddenly lifted her head from his embrace to look at him, her gaze somewhat vacant yet smiling. "Spencer, are you having amnesia again? Don't think you can fool me. I've known for a long time that you remember everything, you big liar."
Gabriel caught her fist as it suddenly came down, holding it firmly. In his deep, dark eyes, there was a hint of intense inkiness, his voice husky and firm, "Who am I?"
"Spencer." Jessica, with a smart and eager-to-learn expression as if ready to answer any question, but then hesitated for a moment, thought for a while, and added another word, "Harriman."
Gabriel stared at her intently, not making a move. Jessica suddenly remembered something because of the word 'Harriman' and sat up abruptly. "Oh, I have to drink with Grandfather!"
With that, she climbed down from him directly, in a hurry, and got off the bed.
The moment her foot barely grazed the ground, Gabriel, who had been under her control, sprang up. In a blink, he seized her wrist and with a swift push, the world spun around her as she was thrust back by him.
