Chapter 635 Sweet Extra of Couple Variety Show 120
Hearing Brent's protective tone towards Gabriel, Lester scoffed, "Fine, see you this afternoon."
With that, Lester rolled up his sleeves and walked out. As he passed by Gabriel and Brent, he shot Brent a disdainful glance, as if doubting that Brent, with Gabriel—a high-and-mighty benefactor who couldn't even grasp basic sports—could actually beat him.
Brent couldn't be bothered to respond. He turned to say something to Gabriel, but Gabriel had already opened the fridge and casually tossed a bottle of cold water to Brent.
Brent instinctively caught it and looked up at him.
"It's hot," Gabriel said coolly, then turned to help Maurice organize the dishes in the cabinet, as if it wasn't Brent who had just vowed to protect him.
Brent took a sip of the water and started to walk out. After a few steps, he suddenly realized what Gabriel meant.
Was Gabriel telling him to cool off and that there was no need to be as childish and impulsive as Lester?
So, in his attempt to show off his basketball skills in front of Gabriel, he ended up being seen as a kid?
Feeling a bit frustrated, Brent glanced down at his biceps, confirming that he was indeed a tall, strong man. He raised an eyebrow and walked out of the kitchen with the bottle of water.
Inside, Maurice chuckled as he organized the cabinet, "Young folks sure have energy. Gabriel, if it doesn't work out this afternoon, let's split them into two teams and go fishing instead."
Gabriel handed a plate to Maurice, his expression revealing little interest in the activity, but he seemed mostly indifferent.
"If the game rules allow us to change the venue to fishing, I'd be happy to join."
Maurice laughed, "It's not about joining or not. I think none of these guys have the skills you do, Mr. Harriman. When men are young, no matter their position, they can't help but be competitive, always trying to show off their skills. If I were twenty or thirty years younger, I'd be just as hot-headed."
Then Maurice asked, "Do you really not know how to play, or are you just not interested in their antics?"
Gabriel casually removed the disposable plastic apron he was wearing, which Clayton had tied on him earlier to prevent water splashes while cleaning.
"Back in school, I rarely had time for those useless clubs," Gabriel said calmly. "But I did dabble in some sports and shooting activities."
Maurice's eyes lit up, "That's right, I've heard people mention that Mr. Harriman is quite the marksman in your business circles, though not many have seen it."
Gabriel smiled faintly, "If you'd like to try, Maurice, we can find a place to practice after the show wraps up."
"That would be fantastic!" Maurice's eyes crinkled with joy.
When they went outside, Marshall had already gone over the game rules again.
Lester and Brent insisted on reassigning the male participants and not following the groups with the female participants. Essentially, Brent wanted to team up with Gabriel, having already promised to protect him.
Gabriel remained impassive, not voicing any opinion. Even though Marshall occasionally glanced his way, unsure if Gabriel really couldn't play basketball, he couldn't discern anything from Gabriel's expression. So, they had to redraw teams.
