Chapter 63 Are There Many People with the Surname Harriman?

Nicholas didn't dare to let his brother take him home, so he slipped away without a trace.

Jessica glanced down at the check on the coffee table and then slowly turned her gaze to the man sitting on the couch, calmly sipping his tea.

The air felt heavy with silence until Jessica suddenly broke it with a scolding remark, "Your injury hasn't healed yet. Why are you drinking tea?"

The teacup that was about to reach his lips was abruptly snatched away by her outstretched hand. Gabriel looked at her with a surprised expression, as if he didn't recognize her after just helping her so much.

Jessica picked up both tea cups and didn't leave him any to drink. As she turned towards the kitchen, she said, "I just put the cups here for decoration. If you want to drink, you have to wait until your injury is completely healed. Who knows if tea will affect the wound-healing process? You can't drink it randomly!"

Gabriel responded, "The jasmine tea you made has a light flavor, it won't have any effect."

Jessica poured all the tea down the sink in the kitchen, washed the cups clean, and walked back, saying, "You didn't even take a sip, and you can tell what kind of tea it is. Seems like your amnesia only made you forget who you are, right? Then, please help me figure out if this check is real or fake. Was that guy just genuinely foolish or was he playing me?"

How could a check from the Harriman family be fake?

Gabriel glanced lightly at the coffee table, saying, "It's real."

Could he determine it was real with a quick glance from such a distance?

How many checks had he seen that he didn't need to examine closely?

Jessica walked over, picked up the check, and examined it. She could only see the bank name, the written amount, and the valid stamp in the bottom right corner. Looking at the signature, Nicholas's three characters were signed particularly messily. Even though the handwriting was beautiful, it was difficult to make out which letters they were. She could only vaguely distinguish the surname of "Harriman" and the first name for "Nicholas."

She still had some doubts about the authenticity of this check. She would have to go to the bank later to test it.

She was skeptical of this unlikely situation, but it came too easily. That guy actually signed without saying a word, without any conditions, and then just walked away without even looking back.

But Nicholas Harriman...

She murmured in confusion, "Are there many Harrimans in Xyleria with the last name 'Harriman'?"

Naturally, no one answered her.

Gabriel seemed not to have heard and got up to make tea for himself in the kitchen.

After escaping from Jessica's place, Nicholas stared at his cellphone. He called Gabriel and sent a message asking for the details, but Gabriel didn't respond at all.

After a while, he tried calling again, only to hear a cold and emotionless woman's voice saying, "I'm sorry, the phone you're calling cannot be reached at the moment."

He was blocked by Gabriel!

Did he actually block him?

Why?

Was Gabriel jealous?

Has his brother already become so obsessed with that beauty, no, with his sister-in-law? Just because he was approached, he got jealous?

Nicholas quickly took out his spare cellphone and sent him another message: [Brother?]

No reply was received. After a few minutes, he sent another message, but the system showed that it failed to send as it was not accepted by the other party.

He got blocked by him again. Nicholas instantly felt frustrated or desperate, unable to bear it alone.

He offended Gabriel!

To ensure that he can still have a comfortable life in the Harriman family after offending his own brother, he seemed to really need to find something to do in the Harriman Entertainment, otherwise, he might end up with nothing.
