Chapter 355 The Bath You Gave Me and the Clothes You Brought Me

Jessica couldn't shake the memory of puking all over Gabriel.

In her dream, Gabriel tossed her into boiling water, scrubbing her like she was contaminated. He morphed into a fiery beast, showing off his power. He'd dunk her in the boiling water, force poison down her throat, and press her head into a furnace, torturing her. Finally, he tied her up and left her in a terrifying empty room.

Jessica woke up drenched in sweat, staring at an unfamiliar hotel chandelier. The dizziness made her fear the chandelier might fall and crush her, like Gabriel's punishment for puking on him.

As she came to her senses, she noticed the blanket, the chandelier, and her surroundings. It was a hotel suite.

'Just a nightmare.' Jessica was relieved.

She closed her eyes, calmed her headache, then sat up and checked under the blanket. Thankfully, she was still dressed.

But then she froze. She wasn't wearing what she had on yesterday. Last night, she wore a dress to the launch party. Now, she had on a loose T-shirt.

Jessica quickly got up and looked around the room. No one else was there. The bathroom was clean except for some used shower gel and shampoo. Her dress from last night, which she had puked on, had been cleaned but was still unwearable.

'Did I really puke on Gabriel last night?' She vaguely remembered that. 'Why am I in a hotel now?'

There was noise outside the door. Mackenzie walked in with lunch, seeing Jessica standing there, dazed.

"Jessica, you're awake," Mackenzie sighed, setting the food on the table. "What are you spacing out for? We need to get to the set this afternoon. Freshen up, eat something, and let's go. The car's waiting downstairs."

Seeing Mackenzie, Jessica realized she might have blacked out last night.

"Did you bring me to the hotel?"

Mackenzie didn't answer, just urged her to hurry up and eat. "Do you want to go to the set on an empty stomach?"

"Did you bathe me and bring me these clothes?"

Mackenzie gave her a helpless look but didn't answer.

"Did I throw up on someone last night?" Still groggy, Jessica wondered if she had hallucinated from drinking too much and maybe hadn't met Gabriel at all.

Mackenzie wanted to say something but stayed silent in the end. She had been woken up before dawn by her backup phone and rushed over to help the unconscious Jessica. This wasn't something anyone should have to do.

But puking all over Gabriel was definitely not something anyone should do.

She had tried to escape but got caught again. In the end, it was all on Jessica.

Gabriel had called Mackenzie to the hotel to take care of Jessica before dawn, clearly not wanting to deal with her himself.

"You drank too much last night, but so did the director and others. Everyone's getting up late today, but they'll be at the set this afternoon. Stop talking and go freshen up."

Jessica looked at Mackenzie again. They had worked together for so long that a single look was enough to understand each other.

She fell silent, stopped asking questions, and headed to the bathroom. She glanced at the bathtub, then started brushing her teeth and freshening up as if nothing had happened.

While she ate, Mackenzie stood by and commented, "You can't hold your liquor but still love to drink. Good thing I'm around to make sure you don't end up passed out on the street."

Jessica, with her mouth full, mumbled, "It was Sam and the others who made me drink."

Mackenzie scoffed. "Sam almost turned the launch party into your and Kevin's wedding banquet last night. Your fans were buzzing all night."

"No way, I publicly declared myself married. The fans are just playing around; it won't really cause any scandals." Jessica stuffed another bite of food into her mouth.

Mackenzie rolled her eyes. "The fans support you, but the haters don't. This morning, many gossip accounts started spreading rumors about you and Kevin having an affair."

Mackenzie poked Jessica's shoulder. "What were you thinking? Danielle's exposure was one thing, but why did you have to claim you were married? If it weren't for your acting skills and talent, I doubt Lynn would have come to be your agent. You're driving us crazy!"

Jessica was amused and glanced at Mackenzie with a smile. "Isn't it nice to avoid scandals? Saves you the trouble and money of hiring PR."

Mackenzie sneered, "The rumor that 'Jessica is married' is the biggest false scandal!"

Jessica said nothing, lowering her head to continue eating.

When they arrived at the set, it was the first day of shooting, and some actors were meeting for the first time, so the atmosphere was quite polite.

This was the second time Jessica and Kevin were working together. As soon as they arrived at the set, Kevin knocked on her trailer door.

"After you went to the bathroom to throw up last night, you disappeared. I didn't see you earlier and thought you had been kidnapped." Kevin smiled, placing the first day's lucky money on her table. "This is the money I give to my studio members. I had two extra, so I'm giving you one. Let's follow Sam's example and get some good luck."

Jessica was delighted to receive the money. "Should I prepare something for you, too?"

"You can give it to me when we wrap up." Kevin smiled at her. "Can you handle shooting right after a hangover?"

Jessica picked up the script with one hand and patted her chest with the other. "No problem."
