Chapter 249 Marry Me, Be Mrs. Harriman

Everyone around was stunned and turned around, only to be shocked to see Gabriel, who had somehow appeared in the banquet hall.

Gabriel, impeccably dressed in a suit, looked at Jessica through the crowd. His eyes were sharp and clear, and as he walked over, one might think that the fleeting softness in his expression was just an illusion. Gabriel was the epitome of indifference.

Whispers erupted around them.

"Mr. Harriman?"

"Gabriel?"

"My God, is that really Mr. Harriman? Am I seeing things?"

"It is indeed Mr. Harriman."

"What is he doing here?"

Trinity's expression changed dramatically when he saw Gabriel, staring at him in disbelief, as he exuded an air of coldness and nobility.

On the other side, Jessica had been struggling to get Keegan's coat off her for a while. Just as she managed to do so, she turned and met Gabriel's gaze.

Gabriel's eyes were as calm as the sea as he looked at her. He noticed her deliberate attempt to keep her distance from Keegan and saw the look she gave him. Despite her best efforts to control her emotions in front of the crowd, her glance conveyed hidden anger, displeasure, distance, and deliberate avoidance.

"Everyone, there's no need to focus too much on me. Just do what you need to do, and please put away the cameras. Harriman Entertainment is a subsidiary of Harriman Group, and I'm just here to congratulate on the successful premiere of 'Charles II'," Gabriel said, his gaze never leaving Jessica. He continued in a deep voice, "By the way, I intend to ask Ms. Jenner when she plans to officially become my girlfriend?"

Jessica was completely taken aback.

Gabriel stood there, occasionally illuminated by the lights in the banquet hall. Under the bright lights, he remained as composed and serene as ever.

Clearly, Gabriel should have been the center of attention, yet he directed all the light and focus towards her. His gaze was filled with a patience that was solely for her.

His voice was deep and clear, "Ms. Jenner, you're really hard to pursue. If being my girlfriend isn't enough sincerity, why not just marry me and become Ms. Harriman?"

Gasps filled the room, and the cameras couldn't just be put away. The situation had escalated from questioning whether Jessica had interfered in the actress's relationship to the revelation that Jessica was actually being pursued by Gabriel, the CEO of Harriman Group. Was this a public proposal?

There had been no prior indication of this, like a deep-sea bomb suddenly exploding, catching everyone off guard. Even the seasoned media professionals were stunned, unable to believe their eyes. This was Gabriel!

Jessica's mind couldn't keep up. When she heard the name, Mrs. Harriman, she felt that the air around Keegan, who was standing very close to her, seemed to suddenly become tense.

She didn't even have time to vent her anger and frustration, looking at Gabriel with disbelief, meeting his serious gaze.

With so many media cameras and so many people from within and outside the industry present.

Jessica looked utterly disheveled at this moment.

Gabriel's proposal sounded simple and seemed straightforward, but it didn't feel impulsive. Yet, it made everyone around them feel the sweetness of love while witnessing the grand gesture Gabriel had made for her, a spotlight that no one could overshadow.

If it were a meticulously planned proposal, Gabriel would not have done it so hastily.

But this only appeared hasty on the surface.

His words pulled Jessica out of the vortex with Keegan and Trinity. If she confirmed her status as his girlfriend and agreed to the proposal, then Keegan and Trinity would no longer have anything to do with her, and she would clear her name.

If Jessica didn't agree, the fact that Gabriel was pursuing her would still be confirmed. Even Gabriel couldn't win her over, proving that Jessica had her own charm. It wasn't her fault that men fell for her, and Keegan would be seen as the one who was infatuated with her.

He was helping her.

He had paved the way for her.

At this moment, a reporter standing close to Jessica suddenly extended a microphone towards her, asking sharply, "Do you have any relationship with Keegan?"

Jessica, who had remained silent, immediately replied, "No. Not familiar with him."

Keegan's face darkened as he turned to her, but Jessica didn't even glance back at him.

"And you and Mr. Harriman?"

Before the person could finish asking, Jessica suddenly shivered, raised her hand to touch her shoulder drenched in wine, and felt increasingly dizzy.

But she had to hold on, couldn't waver, couldn't faint. She couldn't avoid the current situation, but she couldn't think straight about what to say. Her vision darkened, and her body grew colder.

Seeing Jessica's movement, Gabriel said nothing and walked towards her, taking off his coat as he approached.

Before he could get close, people around Jessica suddenly exclaimed, "Ah! What's happening?"

Jessica suddenly closed her eyes and began to collapse. Gabriel's expression darkened as he quickly stepped forward. Just as Keegan was about to catch her, Gabriel stretched out his long arm, scooped her up, and held her in his arms, looking down at her.

She was burning hot to the touch.

Danielle had secretly contacted him with her smartwatch over the past two days, saying she was sick with the flu, which was contagious. She mentioned that Jessica hadn't been feeling well but had been taking care of her.

Jessica hadn't completely fainted but couldn't stand steadily. She frowned in discomfort, trying to regain her balance, but was suddenly lifted up. Even with her eyes closed, she felt the world spinning, her head resting weakly on Gabriel's shoulder, her breath hot. She had a severe fever.

Gabriel held her, lowered his head, and pressed his lips to her burning forehead, ignoring the surrounding media and cameras, intending to take Jessica to the hospital immediately.

Keegan suddenly came over and stepped in front of him. "Give her to me!"

The moment Gabriel saw Keegan standing in front of him, his voice cold and indifferent, "Mr. Chloe, if you can't protect a woman, that's one thing. Do I need to remind you to have some self-respect? Move aside!"

Everyone here was from the industry. Gabriel's status was unattainable for most, and while not many had direct partnerships with him, many had ties with Four Seas Entertainment, especially with Trinity present.

Any concern Keegan showed for Jessica now would only put her in a worse position. The previous rumors on Facebook had been intentionally stirred up for publicity, and he had allowed those topics to surface silently, showing a silent possessiveness. But if he didn't step aside now, he would be pushing her into a fire pit.
