Chapter 617 Sweet Extra of Couple Variety Show 102

The games set by the show's producers weren't too tough overall, but some challenges were definitely tricky.

For example, who would've guessed the director would hide the last set of fishing gear in the villa at the top of the island?

Yeah, the same villa Jessica had missed earlier.

She followed Gabriel up the slope, step by step. Gabriel practically pulled her along the whole way. Even though they were climbing uphill, Jessica barely had to put in any effort; Gabriel was almost dragging her. If they weren't filming, he probably wouldn't have minded carrying her up.

Jessica took in the surroundings as they climbed. When they passed a particularly steep section, she tapped Gabriel's hand and pointed to a spot covered by a rain tarp. Gabriel glanced over and saw a large area covered by the tarp.

"Looks like that's where our next game is," Jessica said.

Jessica initially wanted to check out what the next challenge might be, but the area was too steep and hadn't been cleared by the crew yet. Gabriel stopped her and went to take a look himself.

It turned out to be just a pile of sand and dirt, not yet prepared by the crew.

When they reached the top of the island, they looked towards the villa's yard. The gate had an electronic lock. Jessica tried several combinations, even Googling Marshall's and the producer's birthdays to guess the code, but nothing worked.

"Even though we haven't stayed here, this villa is clearly a checkpoint. There's probably a lot of good stuff inside," Jessica said as she continued trying different codes, but none worked.

The birthdays of the crew members didn't work, nor did the birthdays of the guests, including her own.

"Maybe it's a number unrelated to the crew," Jessica said, hesitating as she fiddled with the lock.

Gabriel glanced at the lock in front of her, moved her hand aside, looked at it for a moment, and then placed her hand back.

"When did the first and second episodes air?" he asked calmly.

Jessica's eyes lit up with his hint. She quickly tried the date of the first episode's airing, then the date of the second episode, which was the week after the first.

The villa gate opened.

Jessica beamed with excitement and immediately grabbed Gabriel's arm, ready to rush inside.

The door inside the villa also had a similar electronic lock, but the code was the same as the gate, making it easy to open.

Jessica was ready to search the villa for any surprises or goodies prepared by the crew, but Gabriel said, "You go inside first. The backyard is flat; I'll check it out."

Jessica gave an OK gesture, touched the wall, and couldn't find the light switch. She instinctively clapped her hands twice, and sure enough, the lights in the villa's first-floor hall turned on.

She looked around. Although it was called a villa, it was actually a high-end accommodation for tourists. The nightly rate was expensive, but the first-floor environment looked similar to a presidential suite in a hotel, not quite up to the standards of a true residential villa.

Thinking about it, she realized it had been a while since she'd been back to South Hill Villa. Before filming the show, she usually stayed at the Harriman Villa or in an apartment near the company.

After a quick glance around, Jessica headed straight for the kitchen.
