Chapter 303 Danielle Was Sleeping Soundly on Her Bed

Jessica was racking up more and more fans, including some pretty obsessive ones.

Her team arrived in H City for a shoot, and word got out. For the past few days, fans had been camping out near the hotel. They were everywhere—main entrance, back entrance, side entrance, even the underground parking lot. Some were snapping and selling photos of celebrities.

The driver took a few laps around H City to dodge the fans before sneaking to the hotel's back entrance.

As expected, the fans didn't guess which entrance they'd use today. There weren't many people at the back entrance. Jessica got out of the car and walked in, hearing a few fans calling her name.

She turned and saw they were all young girls.

"It's so late, and you're still waiting for me? Go home early," she said, checking the time. "You can see me at official events; don't wait around for my private schedule. It's not safe this late."

She just wanted to give some advice, but the young fans were touched and shouted, "Ah, Jessica is so good to us, so caring!"

Then they started sharing this on Facebook, and the fan groups were flooded with posts about how caring Jessica was, with exaggerated praise.

Jessica, now in the hotel elevator, heard Zoey talking beside her and felt a headache .

She was just an actress.

Not an idol.

An actress needed good roles, good scripts, acting skills, and a stable team.

She didn't expect that even playing a supporting role well could attract so many fans, and they were even crazier than idol fans.

Just as the elevator doors were closing, they opened again. Kevin, who had just come in from the side entrance, saw her and smiled. "Which entrance did you come in from today?"

"The back one," Jessica replied knowingly.

Kevin smiled again.

He was also a popular star. Though not at the top, he had quite a few fans, and it was common for fans to follow his car and hotel. Returning to the hotel felt like guerrilla warfare, and they all understood each other.

"The scenes in H City should wrap up by around 3 PM tomorrow. Are you heading back to Xyleria directly?" Kevin asked.

"Yeah, the day after tomorrow is New Year's, but the crew didn't mention a break. I'll go back to Xyleria to finish the last scenes of the month."

"Tomorrow night is New Year's Eve, and there's a fireworks show in Xyleria. Want to watch it together?"

Jessica looked at Kevin for a moment.

Back in Sunshine Bay City, Kevin had shown interest in her a few times, but she had clearly rejected him. After returning to Xyleria, since they were in the same crew, they saw each other often and just kept it professional. Although Kevin didn't talk much with other actresses, he talked more around her. But Jessica just saw him as a friend and colleague, never thinking much about it.

Watching the fireworks show together on New Year's Eve seemed too intimate.

Jessica smiled lightly. "There'll be a ton of people at the fireworks show. With our current popularity, if we get photographed, do you really want to be trending with me on the first day of the new year?"

Her response was a half-joking, polite refusal.

"Trending depends on who you're with. If it's with you, I'd be happy," Kevin replied sincerely, smiling.

Jessica teased, "People who have trended with me didn't have a good outcome, like Trinity, Deborah, Donna, and Keegan. Aren't you afraid?"

"They brought it on themselves. But the situation between you and Mr. Chloe is still unclear. Was he your ex-boyfriend?"

"Sort of. We were close in our teens, then didn't contact each other for about five years," Jessica replied honestly.

She usually didn't like talking about her personal life, but in the entertainment industry, curiosity about rumors was normal. It was better to be open than let others speculate.

Besides, she actually admired Kevin. She couldn't be ambiguous with people, but as a friend, she would interact with him respectfully and openly, without avoiding too many topics.

"Five years?" Kevin asked.

Trinity and Keegan's relationship, from public to broken engagement, also lasted about five years.

Kevin looked at Jessica knowingly and returned to the previous topic. "Want to watch the fireworks show together tomorrow night?"

They had already walked out of the elevator and were passing by Jessica's room when he asked again.

Zoey handed Jessica her room card from behind. Jessica took it and looked at Kevin. "No, if we get photographed and trended, my boyfriend might get jealous."

Kevin's expression froze.

She had politely refused, without directly saying she had plans with her boyfriend, but implying that trending would make her boyfriend jealous.

It was a polite way to save face for him but also a clear and final rejection of his pursuit.

"You have a boyfriend?" Kevin asked, feeling a bit defeated but still maintaining a polite smile.

Seeing Jessica's affirmative look, he nodded. "Alright, goodnight then."

Jessica nodded and opened her door. Kevin didn't linger and headed to his room, while Jessica also entered hers.

Zoey, seeing Kevin walk away, whispered to Jessica as they entered, "Kevin is really handsome, and he has a good reputation in the industry. His family background and character are good, too, but he's still not as good as Mr. Harriman. There aren't many like you, Jessica, who are so disciplined. Many people secretly date multiple people. If I were you, I couldn't refuse so decisively."

Jessica had just entered the room when she suddenly noticed something on the bed. She stopped and turned to Zoey. "You don't need to help me with the script tonight. Go rest early."

"Huh?" Zoey was surprised to be dismissed early, "Alright, I'll go to sleep then. You rest early too, Jessica."

Jessica gave her a look to hurry back, then walked into the room and gently closed the door.

She tiptoed to the bed, unable to hide her surprise as she looked at Danielle, who had somehow appeared and was sleeping soundly on her bed.
