Chapter 460 What Is She Going to Do to Me

The resentment inside Kimberly was growing like wildfire. She glanced at the servant carrying a tray through the main hall and grabbed a wine glass.

She contemplated countless ways to deal with Jessica, but none of them seemed to work now.

Jessica was always glued to Gabriel's side. They were so in sync and close that no one could get between them. No matter what anyone tried, Gabriel wouldn't let anyone near Jessica.

'Gabriel, is it solely because she bore your daughter that she is so treasured by you? What makes her better than me?'

For years, Kimberly stayed close to her parents, hoping to marry Gabriel, only to see Jessica take the place she had long worked for.

Everyone's laughter and congratulations were particularly grating to Kimberly.

She took a deep breath, walked over to Gabriel with the wine glass, and offered it to him, her voice as soft as ever, "Gabriel, last time I was in Stellaria City, I was busy with meetings and didn't get a chance to visit you in the hospital when I heard you were hurt."

Jessica was right next to Gabriel and turned to see the wine glass Kimberly was offering.

Gabriel glanced at the glass of red wine, then looked at Kimberly with a cold, indifferent stare.

There was no warmth in his eyes. In the next second, he grabbed a piece of cake from the dessert table and handed it to Jessica, holding her as they walked away, as if Kimberly wasn't even there.

Kimberly stood there for a few seconds, stunned. There were so many guests around, most of whom saw what happened, but Gabriel completely ignored her.

Her expression changed instantly. She downed the wine in one gulp and turned her gaze to Jessica's dress.

It was a very elegant and simple blue gown, with a dignified yet sexy backless design. The back was tied with a thin ribbon that formed a perfect knot, extending down to the hem of the dress, giving it a simple, approachable, and elegant design.

If that ribbon on her back were accidentally pulled, the entire elegant and smooth dress would surely slip off her shoulders.

Although this method was low and childish, seeing Jessica's bracelet, always protected by Gabriel and surrounded by loved ones, she couldn't resist the urge to humiliate her.

In front of so many people, stepping on the dress would surely embarrass Jessica. Even though she might be criticized for such an act, at least Jessica would share in the humiliation.

Moreover, Brooklyn and Benjamin were also here today and would definitely stand up for her.

Just like when they were abroad, Brooklyn and Benjamin always sided with her unconditionally. Even now, even though the bracelet was on Jessica's hand, it was only due to circumstances. Brooklyn and Benjamin would still stand by her side.

Just as Kimberly made up her mind, she suddenly put down the empty glass and turned to walk towards Jessica. At that moment, Gabriel suddenly turned around, his extremely indifferent gaze cold and direct.

Kimberly was caught off guard, but she couldn't stop her forward momentum.

Gabriel quickly shifted his grip from Jessica's hand to her elbow, subtly steadying her while gently pulling her into his arms. At the same time, his other hand swiftly blocked Kimberly, who stumbled and fell due to stepping on nothing. Kimberly didn't realize they were standing in front of the main hall entrance, where there were three marble steps. She lost her balance and fell hard, rolling down the steps and landing painfully on the ground, trembling all over. She looked back in disbelief.

Jessica's dress was unharmed, and she didn't even know what had just happened. She was suddenly pulled into Gabriel's arms and turned her head to see Kimberly lying on the ground.

Kimberly's face turned pale, and she bit her lip hard.

She couldn't believe it.

Gabriel, a man who was so gentlemanly and polite when they first met and always gentle with his family, could be so heartless for an outsider like Jessica.

She couldn't believe Gabriel could be so unfeeling. He could have helped her while protecting Jessica, and they could have pretended nothing happened, which would have been better than letting her fall alone.

But he blocked her without mercy, letting her fall like that.

Kimberly felt an agonizing pain that seemed to pierce her very soul, and she looked up at him with red eyes.

Gabriel met her gaze, his voice icy and devoid of any warmth or politeness, giving her a final, impatient warning. "Kimberly, enough."

For a moment, Kimberly seemed unable to hear the voices of guests around her. As the servant hurried over to help her up, she looked at Gabriel with trembling shoulders, seeing his cold profile.

Gabriel stood at the entrance of the main hall, surrounded by the hall's lights, but the indifference in his eyes was like an unsheathed knife, sharp and cold, giving her a final warning. Not only could she not use any underhanded means against Jessica, but if she dared to do anything to Jessica and Danielle, even something as childish and clumsy as now, she would never have a place in the Harriman family again.

"Kimberly." Brooklyn had already noticed the situation and came over to see Kimberly, who had just been helped up by the servant. He quickly came over and held her, asking gently and concerned. "What happened? Did you fall? Are you hurt?"

"I'm fine." Kimberly lowered her eyes, not daring to meet Gabriel's gaze or Brooklyn's concerned eyes, and said softly, "I didn't notice the steps here and accidentally fell."

Brooklyn, who had raised Kimberly herself, could make sense of what had happened given the subtle atmosphere.

Brooklyn didn't say much, just turned to look at Jessica, who was being well protected by Gabriel and seemed unaware of what had happened, then gently patted Kimberly's hand. "Did you hurt your leg? Let's go to the room and I'll take a look."

Jessica watched as Brooklyn led Kimberly away, then turned and softly asked, "Was Kimberly just trying to do something to me?"

Gabriel didn't answer, just glanced at her dress and casually took off his coat, draping it over her shoulders. "It's windy at night, put it on."
