Chapter 636 Sweet Extra of Couple Variety Show 121

In the end, the draw results for the male contestants turned out just as Brent had hoped, placing him and Gabriel on the same team.

Brent held up the same red ball as Gabriel, grinning triumphantly as he approached, ready to throw an arm around Gabriel's shoulder.

But just as he raised his hand, he quickly pulled it back, instead leaning in with a cheeky smile. "Hey, Gabe, don't sweat it! Our team is gonna crush this!"

Gabriel looked at him with a hint of amusement. "Should I be thanking you?"

"No need, it's just that..." Brent's smile faded as he noticed Maurice reluctantly drawing a red ball as well.

Lester, holding a blue ball, laughed out loud. "Looks like you got double trouble, Brent."

Maurice smiled sheepishly. "Brent, I'm really sorry about this. You'll have to carry my weight too."

Brent quickly responded, "No worries, Maurice! It's great to have you on the team! This is all about having fun, right? Friendship first, competition second!"

He glanced at Gabriel again, who remained calm and indifferent, as if none of this concerned him.

Lester chuckled, "Weren't you just saying you were gonna take this seriously? Now it's all about fun? What happened to competition second?"

"Can you shut up for a second? Maurice joining us is a privilege!" Brent shot him a look.

"If Maurice had drawn my team, I'd carry him too. But you, with your high ambitions, are taking on two!" Lester laughed heartily.

Kevin and Clayton, who also drew blue balls, didn't say much. They had already turned to check out the female contestants' volleyball arrangements, clearly uninterested in this childish banter.

Brent scoffed, "Don't get too excited. I can easily score a three-pointer and take on all three of you. Besides, Clayton and Kevin spend most of their time on set. Who knows how good they are at basketball? They might be worse than Maurice."

"Really? Maurice, do you play basketball often?" Lester turned to ask.

Maurice sighed and waved his hand. "Just some middle-aged sports."

Lester shrugged at Brent, who was now visibly annoyed.

Brent rolled his eyes, not bothering to respond further. He took off his recently donned sun-protection jacket, revealing his muscular arms and sleeveless shirt. "Enough talk. See you on the court this afternoon."

"Alright, see you on the court," Lester replied, touching his chin thoughtfully. As he turned to leave, he glanced at Gabriel, seemingly unintentionally.

Gabriel felt the gaze and, this time, didn't ignore it. He returned the look with cool, clear eyes, revealing no emotion.

With the male contestants' draw settled, the female contestants headed upstairs to change in their rooms.

The director had prepared several sets of cool sportswear, hats, wristbands, and knee pads for them. Even though falling on the beach wouldn't hurt much, it was still necessary to wear the gear.

When Jessica came downstairs in a bright yellow sports outfit, she quickly ran over to Gabriel and whispered, "Gabriel, how do I look?"

Gabriel's eyes were drawn to the bright yellow, and he looked at her closely. "Volleyball involves a lot of running and jumping. Take care of yourself."
